Time seemed to have stood still, the room was eerily quiet. In the silence, all Charlotte Cooper could hear was her own breathing.

The masked men who were scolded by Hugo for their sloppy workmanship were nowhere to be found.

Now, only Charlotte, Hugo and the servant who'd come to report were left in the room.

Just as Charlotte was about to muster up the courage to ask Hugo something, he abruptly stood up. He instructed the servant to watch over her and to ensure not a single hair was harmed on her head.

After his orders, Hugo walked out the door.

"Hey! Hugo, are you planning on keeping me tied up? At least loosen the ropes, it's too tight!"

Watching Hugo out of her sight, her heart sank. So, she shouted at him, "Hugo! Just remember what I've told you, I mean every word of it!"

Hugo, who was already quite a distance away, didn't react whatsoever. Charlotte sighed.
