Noticing the man fleeing in fear, Charlotte Cooper furrowed her brows slightly.
Joseph Andrew, seeing this, moved closer to her and said in a low voice, "I know that man. He's one of the thugs who hangs around the shopping center. You don't need to worry about him."
Charlotte gave a slight nod to indicate she wasn't particularly concerned, a response that caused Joseph to raise his eyebrows. How could she be so nonchalant about such a serious incident? He assumed she was pretending to be strong.
But in fact, Charlotte really wasn't that concerned. The death of Noah Carter was a lump in her heart, but she had long accepted the reality, so it really couldn't hurt her.
Out of politeness, Charlotte hesitated before saying in a somewhat cold tone to Joseph, "Thank you for earlier." Her formal words, spoken in a distant and detached voice, created a sense of aloofness.
