The woman hurriedly caught up with Charlotte Cooper and apologized in a low voice.
"I'm sorry, Charlotte, I really didn't expect you to be here."
"So you mean you can freely gossip about me if I'm not here?" Charlotte said with a laugh.
"No, I didn't mean that. Today someone interviewed me and asked about your relationship. I just followed her words. Charlotte, please give me another chance, I won't dare to do it again." The woman blocked Charlotte's way.
"It's just an interview, and it's about me. How long has it been since you were interviewed that you're this desperate?"
The woman's face flashed with embarrassment as she tightly grasped the long hem of Charlotte's costume.
Charlotte stopped, looking at her unwilling expression.
She reached out and touched her face, seeing her terrified look, and said, "Do you know? I really hate and despise people who talk behind my back, then beg for my forgiveness after I hear it."
The woman's face flushed with a mix of shame and anger.
