After breakfast, everyone left for the briefing room. Kian took a seat at the front with Xiaoshu. He can't wait to be beamed down. Kian loves video games, so to him killing aliens will be the same. He's too excited.

When Shaotian and Yuan entered, the room became silent. They walked up the stairs and took a seat behind the table, on stage. Kian looked at Shaotian and he looked back. Kian felt his heartbeat quicken and looked down.

Shaotian glanced at him a bit longer and said:

"The backpack you're being handed is the only tool you'll have with you, for the entirety of the trial. If you use something outside of it, you'll be disqualified. As soon as you're on the ground, the trial starts."

Yuan said:

"If you believe that your life is in danger and need help, ask for it and someone will immediately come. It would also mean that you're forfeiting."

When everyone had received a backpack, Yuan said:

"Let's go to the beam pad."
