The next morning at Elena Gilbert's house. Elena was crying in her bed with Stefan and Damon beside her. They were sitting beside her bed comforting her.

"Elena, you're going to be fine!" Stefan stated as he stroked Elena's head brushing her bangs out of her face "No one is going to hurt you!"

Elena looked at him suspiciously and then put her hand on her neck which was purple with a handprint.

"Stefan, she's just been almost murdered, do you think that saying it's going to be okay is going to put her at ease?" Damon replied ironically as he crossed his arms "Henrik got hard on her"

"Damon, did you know he was alive?" Stefan asked growling at his brother "Was it you who organized all this?"

"No, I'm as surprised as you are" Damon rolled his eyes and shook his head "I may be a lot, but I would never joke about our brother's death and I wouldn't let him drive a stake through my heart!"

"That too, Damon, how are we not alive?" Stefan looked at Damon with curiosity and with a lot of uncertainty "we should have died"

"Maybe the stake he hit us with isn't made of wood but another material that mimics the shape of wood" Damon replied trying to find some logical answer

"He looked like he was suffering!" For the first time, Elena spoke as she sat up in bed and looked at the two vampires sadly, "What, I feel so gross just thinking that he was suffering?"

Stefan looked at her with a complicated face. He knew that Henrik had reason to hate Elena, she was just like Katherine.

"Elena, you look like someone he hates," Stefan said bitterly.

"Someone he hates? Are you talking about Katherine to your ex?" Elena asked with a pang of anger.

"Exactly, Henrik hates her and that's why he hates you too" Damon joked with amusement.

"Because I did not do anything!" Elena questioned indignantly and hesitantly as if something was hurting her "Why does he hate me?"

"Why, Katherine loved him!" Stefan replied with a sigh.

"Unfortunately" Damon rolled his eyes "When Henrik made it clear that he only wanted sex with Katherine and she was hurt and it's never good to leave Katherine hurt."

"Why did you date her?" Elena looked at Stefan with suspicion and an angry tone "she hurt her brother"

"Elena, why are you angry?" Stefan asked surprised

"You betrayed your brother's trust by dating the girl he hated" Elena yelled and pointed her finger at Stefan accusingly.

"Exactly Elena, you understand me, Stefan is a big married eater" Damon declared dramatically and leaned back dodging Stefan's punch.

Elena looked accusingly at Stefan who in panic defended himself with his words of confidence.

"It's not like that, Elena, I won't betray my brother, he doesn't

"Elena, I think it's time for you to sleep" Damon stepped forward looking into Elena's eyes "Sleep and only wake up when your body is fine!"

He used her compulsion on her. Elena's Vervain necklace was at the head of her bed and so it didn't save her from the compulsion.

"Damon, what the hell are you doing?" Stefan screamed when he saw Elena curl up in bed and sleep.

"Can't you see what's going on?" Damon spoke angrily and pointed his finger at Elena now sleeping "Doesn't this look similar to you?"

"Similar what?" Stefan asked confused and turning his eyes to Damon to question him

"When one of us spoke ill of Henrik around Katherine" Damon replied and frowned angrily "I loved Katherine but when it came to Henrik in the game I know I would never love her"

"You're saying?" Stefan asked worriedly and bit his lip as he realized what Damon had said.

"Yes, Elena is having the symptoms of the mad Katherine flu" Damon commented with a laugh and leaned to the side dodging another blow from Stefan "take it Stefan you lost the girl"

"Damon, that was our brother, I saw him die," Stefan asked with a frown.

"I saw you die you are here" Damon spoke indifferently and pointed to Stefan's face "Are you in denial?"

"No, I just want him to be Henrik and not an imposter" Stefan scoffed with a twinkle in his eye "If he is Henrik, I have no problem with opening Hand of Elena's for him"

"Stefan, what are you talking about," Damon asked confused, and looked at Stefan angrily grabbing Stefan's collar "Are you going to abandon Elena the same way you abandoned Katherine? because Henrik has already tried to kill Elena and will try again"

"no he won't" Stefan stated confidently and slapped Damon's hand making him release Stefan's collar Is it over there"

"And?" Damon asked

"So what, he's probably turned off" Stefan spoke with insecurity "But Elena got a feeling out of him, Like he said, my twin brother is more important than a woman I just met, I won't do the same. error again"

"So how are you going to do it?" Damon asked ironically "Make him return to humanity"

"using Elena," Stefan said and pointed at the sleepy Elena "He has feelings for her and I can use her to bring humanity back"

"And then," Damon asked

"She's his" Stefan commented and shook his head "I look for someone else and if she hurts him I'll kill her"

"Stefan, I thought you loved Elena!" Damon asked confused and crossed his arms "You look more like me than you"

"I love her, but I love my twin more" Stefan's response was cold and cruel "This time, I won't be the cause of his pain"
