Lin Cian started to realize that he provoked the wrong person. The ground below him started to tremble like crazy as much as he struggled even to stand. The most important thing is that only the specific area below him shook. Even the party members have feared this move because that's what their faces portrayed. They were shocked to see that Wei Li was using such a powerful technique on a newbie. But they didn't take any action because they all know of Wei Li's control over his strength and power. So not even June was afraid of Lin Cian getting hurt.
Lin Cian had no choice but to jump high. The next move made a surprise shock on everyone's face except for William. Lin Cian turned himself upside down in midair. He created a small wind barrier under his feet and stomped on it to push himself towards Wei Li. William was getting used to his surprises a long time ago. But Wei Li also seems to be prepared. He just lifted his fingers in the direction of Lin Cian charging at him. Everything happened in a fraction of a second. Everything seemed to be a written script for the others who were watching. Only Lin Cian and Wei Li knew the exact pressure they are in.
As an experienced traveler and adventurer Wei Li was used to the kind of speed Lin Cian displayed but what made him suffer was the speed with which Lin Cian interpreted his thoughts. In short Wei Li was worried about Lin Cian's mental strength because he can feel the pressure of Lin Cian's mental energy. As for Lin Cian, it was a new experience he had ever had. Either the earth-level mage or the earth elemental user was new to him. He never had a fight with one or had a chance to get to know someone with that ability. Both Lin Cian and Wei Li were forced to retreat because of the unusual sparring between them but Aveda intervened "Rondell fight him with your all out. Wei Li use half of your strength" she said while turning her gaze to their respective faces. The others were shocked to see that an earth-level mage was allowed to fight with half of his strength with a person in the mortal stage. It will be too strong for a person who was in the intermediate stage of exiting the mortal realm and entering the earth realm like Lin Cian. But only Wei Li thought the otherwise 'half of my strength? I am already using forty percent of my strength'. Wei Li sighed and looked at Lin Cian who was breathing in timely intervals.
Lin Cian was focusing on Wei Li without a slight loss in concentration. His sky-like eyes looked like it was going to shoot Wei Li down. It gave a sharp prick to Wei Li's heart when he looked at the eyes of Lin Cian. Wei Li also decided to test the strength of Lin Cian. He ignored the cold stare of Lin Cian and started to recite a charm. The situation became tense and dense. The heart of everyone was beating at the speed of a hundred kilometers per hour. Even if William was tense, he can be sure that Lin Cian was calm. William's assurance turned out to be true.
When a mage recites a chant he would expose himself to his threat because that was the period that needed the most of his concentration. That was the weakest moment of a mage. Only a few in the magical world can move while chanting. But Lin Cian didn't lunge at Wei Li to attack him. Instead, he just stood in the same place without even blinking his eyes looking at him. 'It was the same chant again' Lin Cian said himself and his stare became more focused on Wei Li. The earth below Lin Cian's feet started to tremble. But this time Lin Cian didn't take an action but strived his best to stand straight.
After a moment something like a whip strikes Lin Cian at his back. At the last moment, Lin Cian activated his critical skill. 'Nothingness' he thought. Suddenly his body soured with power. It became to shine and spark with light. The opaque property of his body started to disappear gradually. He became semi-transparent. It didn't take a very long time for him to become completely transparent. When the whip strikes him it passed throughout his body without hurting him. Even though the hit was critical he just managed to escape but it consumed too much of his energy.
The skill 'Nothingness' was comprehended by Lin Cian on his own. By combining the skills 'hide', and 'doppelganger' with some of his own interpretations he discovered a new defense ability. It needs him to completely fill his body with energy including his inner organs as he does for making a body double and then he uses the skill 'hide'. The skill 'hide' works externally and the skill 'doppelganger' works internally. The skill 'nothingness' works internally and externally with every last segment of his body filled with spirit energy.
Wei Li and the others of the party raised their eyebrows while their eyes widened. Except for William who managed to smile at the sudden reflex and the unique skill of Lin Cian. Everything may have been detailed in the eyes of Lin Cian and Wei Li but it was a blink of an eye for the audiences who were witnessing the scene. Lin Cian turned his head to have a look at the stalker. It looked like an animal but it only had bones. It was one and a meters tall on its four legs and two meters tall on its two legs. It just looked like a raptor with a normal tail. It made Lin Cian think 'how come does it manage to hit me with its tail. Did I hallucinate something?' His question was reasonable because its tail was just a meter in length which can not hit him on his back with its full body covered in the ground. Well, it was an undead creature summoned by Wei Li that injected fear into his opponents except for the foolish ghost who was really foolish enough to stand in front of it unafraid. Wei Li seemed to be a little disappointed but he have the upper hand.
Wei Li and Lin Cian smiled at each other. "Little pumpkin shut him down" commented Wei Li with a creepy laugh. Lin Cian raised his eyebrows at his sudden change in attitude. 'Little pumpkin?' He laughed internally but he knew the creature was powerful as well as annoying. Now he really knows the meaning of his name.
The undead creature charged at Lin Cian on its two legs as a raptor would do. Lin Cian had no choice but to dodge but when Lin Cian dodged from the claws of the creature he could see that the raptor just follow him wherever he moved and fixed its target on him. Lin Cian had a foolish thought and he focused on accomplishing that. He started to glide on the ground. He ran circling around Wei Li which made Wei Li confused about Lin Cian's actions. Lin Cian's speed increased as well as the raptors. Only by then, did he start to initiate his plan. The circling around Wei Li becomes smaller and smaller. In each round, Lin Cian reduced the distance between himself and Wei Li until it got reduced to a meter. Wei Li who had no idea what Lin Cian was doing stood still and commented on the pumpkin chasing him. Pumpkin was the name of the undead creature. No one in the party had any idea about the reason for the name Wei Li had for his undead creature.
Every member of the party was curiously looking for the results of the sparring between a senior member and a junior member. But only Wei Li knows the fact that Lin Cian had an unusual level of mental strength. Even if Harry knew that Lin Cian's strength was unusual but he couldn't interpret it in a specific way so he was very curious to know the strength Lin Cian had. When the distance between Lin Cian and Wei Li was very short as the tail of the raptor had half a meter to touch Wei Li, Lin Cian showed the intention he had. He turned around as his eyes looked at the eye pits of the undead creature. The pumpkin suddenly stopped and its tail elongated up to three meters. The creature whipped its tail with its full strength. Everyone was shocked to witness the scene. Wei Li only described it with the word 'fu**' because its tail strikes Wei Li instead of Lin Cian. Wei Li was sent flying for three meters before crashing and rolling on the ground.
Wei Li growled in pain. The raptor grunted before disappearing as the connection between it and Wei Li was interrupted. Darius ran towards Wei Li and checked him "thank god he was not injured". Lin Cian stood in the same place watching the party members treating Wei Li. He was panting heavily. He bowed his back, bend his knees, and supported himself with his hands on his knees. He was inhaling and exhaling heavily as if someone near him can hear it. Suddenly his body soured with energy and he started to recover. It was June who started to use the healing spell on both Wei Li and Lin Cian. Lin Cian recovered in a few minutes but it will take a day of rest for Wei Li to be recovered fully. Lin Cian had never thought that summoners still exists. Not even in his dreams did he think that he would be fighting with one.
