Chapter 38: Darling, tell me you care

Pepper stepped into the much desired shower she's been craving for since last night. She closed her eyes and allowed the warm water soothe aching body. She was going to take that sick day afterall. She was already losing her Job what's the worst they can do to her.

After spending forty eight minutes in the shower, she came out to find Asher packing his things into a duffel bag and she looked away briefly when she remembered the sobbing - like - a - child incident earlier.

"It's like a dream come true for you, huh? I mean you never thought you would be alive to see Asher the homeless man leave your apartment" Asher chuckled lightly. 

There was no need to be sombre about the whole thing.

Pepper dried her hair and didn't say a word. Then she opened her wardrobe.

"You know you and your brat don't have to leave just yet"

Asher stood upright and placed both his hands on his waist.
