"Ella, aren't you attending Valerie's birthday party?" I heard Connie's voice as she handed me the cake box. She is one of my trusted employees, and I know I can leave the cafe at any time to her.

"Thank you, Con, for reminding me, I didn't realize it is almost time, and I am sure she will get angry with me again." I responded.

"Don't let your best friend get angry with you; go now, and don't worry; I will make sure everything will be fine around here. You don't need to help us anyway; you are our boss." She said, and I smiled at her.

"Thank you, Connie," I replied.

"1You are welcome, Ella," She stated, and I pulled out the apron over my head and I got my bag and got out of the cafe while I realized I couldn't make it on time.
