Just when they thought Dvalin was about to release his breath, it didn't. On the contrary, even more Anemo started condensing in its mouth.
Venti: What the!? Everyone hurry we can't let Dvalin condensed anymore or it will be over for us!
This made everyone's face turned pale. If before the dragon was only gathering power to defeat or injure them badly then this time it was in the full intent to kill.

The bard hurriedly launched the volley of arrows which hit Dvalin. Yet, the dragon remained unfazed with more anemo condensed in his mouth.
While Venti was trying to get his attention, Lumine, Jean, and Diluc ran towards one of its claws. They knew the current gravity of situation. Even if they failed to stop Dvalin from gathering its power, they must at least open the way for their escape.
Lumine and Jean coated their weapons with anemo power and attacked it.

While they were doing so, Diluc waited for a few seconds to concentrate all his power in the claymore which burst into flames before swinging it forward as a fire phoenix flapped its wings and hit Dvalin claw.
Diluc: Move back!
Just when Lumine and Jean get of the way and explosion occurred.

Still, their happiness was short lived because when the smoke or dust flew away then saw Dvalin's claw which was same as before. Without any scratch.
But they didn't have time to contemplate about it since Dvalin was done by now.
It spread its wings, moved its head back before opening its mouth and releasing highly concentrated breath.

KA-BOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The entire platform disappeared.
It was truly a devastating sight.
But too bad that Dvalin was not done yet. It saw Lumine and others jumped at another platform at the last moment which saved their lives.
It was because when it moved its head back to launch its attack, he removed his claws which were blocking the way. They used that second to save themselves.
Next, Dvalin moved his head towards their direction with its mouth still releasing the breath.
Seeing this they put more strength into their legs to run as fast as they could.

Finally, Dvalin stopped.
But Lumine, Jean, Diluc, and Venti didn't seem much happy about it. Not only they were covered in sweat with all that escape but they also felt chill down their spine noticing how half of the platforms had disappeared.
Dvalin' breath destroyed eight platforms out of sixteen. Hence, only eight more were left. In more simpler words, the next time Dvalin used that move, it will be the end.
Without giving them any time to rest, the claw came for them.
They hurriedly split in right and left as the claw slammed between them.
BANG!!
The shockwave from the claw hit them and threw them away. Still, in order to caught the flying Paimon, Lumine had no choice but to move herself to the edge of the platform before finally catching her.
Paimon: T-Thanks, Lumine! Paimon thought she will fall.
Lumine. You're welcome. But Paimon---
Paimon: Paimon knows. Paimon won't be burden.
With this she turned into light and disappeared inside Lumine.
Venti: Hey Dvalin didn't you say I need to come here to help you! Now that I am here why are you still attacking.
Instead of answering, the dragon released the blasts of Anemos at them.

The projectiles were faster and due to their fatigue, they failed to dodge it. They hit them and sent them flying.
Lumine: Argh!!
Jean: Ahh!!
Diluc: Auh!!
Venti: Hngh!!
The blast not only separated them but also injured them.
Just when they barely gathered their strength to stood up, Dvalin lunged across the platform and struck them with its huge body.
Lumine: Grbh!
Jean: Argh!!
As for the people on the other side, it slammed them with its tail.

Venti: Thwak!!
Anyone can see that tell that it was completely one-sided battle.

She then shared her plan with her. Jean was surprised hearing this but then she turned solemn.

Lumine: I know. But we have no choice or we will die.
After giving it some more thoughts, Jean reluctantly agreed.
Venti was attacking with Anemo filled arrows non-stop giving Diluc enough time to charge his move.
At this time, Dvalin did something different.
Instead of in his mouth, it covered its claws with Anemo element and slammed at Lumine and Jean.

The two women jumped at the next platform survive but to their horror when they looked back, they saw that that platform was no longer there. It had been destroyed. So, now only seven remained.
Suddenly Lumine sensed something and looked at Dvalin.
In the next second, her face turned pale.
Lumine: Hurry, Diluc! We can't delay it for much longer.

Lumine: Release it when you are! Jean.

With this she stepped forward in front of Lumine and also started attacking Dvalin by using Anemo energy stabs to attract its attention like Venti.
Diluc: Here it comes! BURN!
Finally, Diluc was done and released the flaming phoenix which was a whole lot bigger than before. In that he put all of this elemental power. In other words, he can't use it again.
Still even though the phoenix was big, compare to Dvalin, it's still small.
Just when Dvalin was about to destroy it, Lumine made her move.
Lumine: Hyah!
Using almost all of her reserve, she launched a huge tornado. But instead of Dvalin, the tornado target was the phoenix.

Soon, both the phoenix and tornado collided. Instead of destroying one another, they both merged together. And since Diluc phoenix was stronger than Lumine's tornado, as well as air made fire stronger, a huge fire tornado was formed.

It was not the end. Jean also used her reserve and launched her Anemo attack which also merged with the tornado making it bigger.
Next, in the astonished eyes of Diluc and Venti, the tornado smashed on Dvalin which paused for a moment after witnessing this.

A huge explosion occurred.
The entire area shook.
As everyone waited patiently, the energy burst out, forming a hurricane of Anemo before Dvalin emerged again. Unscathed as before.
However, compared to before, the others were calm. As if they already expected this outcome.
Dvalin saw that and started wondering why they were behaving like this. Then, it noticed something.
There were only three people below. Jean, Diluc, and Venti. The last one was missing.
As it was wondering where the last one could have hidden, Lumine landed on Dvalin's back.

The fire tornado was in truth just a distraction. Lumine knew the Anemo element didn't have much affect on Dvalin since it was one of the four winds. The only one among them who had even a slightest chance to put a scratch of the dragon was Diluc.
But the difference between his and Dvalin was too big. Hence, they used their anemo to make his pryo stronger. Even if it still won't be enough to even injury the dragon, for someone as prideful as Dvalin, how could it would let a mere ant but a scratch on it. So, it focused on nullifying the fire tornado while ignoring the others in the process.
Using that moment, Lumine with the help of Venti and wind currents landed on the dragon.
Her target, the remaining blood clot.
Realizing that Lumine was on its back, Dvalin started thrashing around trying to get her off.
Lumine, on the other hand, was barely holding on it thanks to the blessing that Venti gave her.

The arrows came and attacked Dvalin again which irritated it and it smashed its claw at them partially breaking the platform.
Diluc and Jean didn't let go of his opportunity and started attacking its arm.
Lumine slowly crawled herself towards the blood clot before slashing at it.

Pink blood gushed out from it but it was not enough.
On the contrary, Dvalin grunted in pain and this further intensified its rage.
Dvalin: ROOAR!!!!!!!!!
It raised its head and roared in the sky while flapping its wings furiously.
From the clouds above, Anemo blast rain down.
This was another one of Dvalin's strongest move.
Realizing that the end was nigh, Lumine put the remaining power into the tip of her sword and stab into the blood clot.
STAB!!!
SPLURT!!
More blood gushed out. It was also the moment when the rain fell.
Not only it swallowed on the remaining platforms but also hit Lumine.
Lumine: Argh!!!
The bloodied Lumine finally unable to held on and fell from the Dvalin's back. Her body, bones, organs, muscles, tissues and so on were thorough destroyed by that attack. Blood was leaking out from every part of her body.
Still, before she could lose consciousness, she noticed that the last blood clot on Dvalin's back burst into pieces with an anemo vortex at that place which also dispersed after a second.
Seeing this, a smile appeared on her face.
'Lumine: I did it. We won.'
With this darkness swallowed her and she fell into the abyss below just like Jean, Diluc and Venti.
Still, Lumine dreamt that she heard loud screech of Dvalin at the last moment.

--- In the sky of Mondstadt ---
Primis: It went well. Good.
Dvalin: I am honored to hear your praise, Your Excellency.
The dragon was soaring through the sky of Mondstadt while flapping its wings happily. It's been a long time since it could fly without feeling any pain from the dark blood which was tormenting it.
Primis was leisurely sitting on his back while caressing the heads of sleeping Lumine and Paimon in his embrace.
Makoto was at his side while Jean, Diluc, and Venti were lying behind. They were all unconscious.
Though none of their lives were in danger since Primis healed them already.
Dvalin: Why did Your Excellency cure me? If the poison was still inside me then it would have been easy for these humans to defeat me since that time, I would have let the rage control me and would be full of opening.
Primis: It's true that they would have better chances that time but that's not what I want. I want them to suffer a setback and realize how weak they currently are.
Yes. In truth, Dvalin poison was fully cured the moment blue light from lyre entered Dvalin. However, Primis did something to make sure the blood clot on Dvalin didn't disappear. It was just a dummy to give others the illusion that they must do something to free Dvalin from its suffering.
Lumine was wrong to think that Primis helped Dvalin so that it could go easy on them. The truth was quite the opposite. He wanted Dvalin to show them the glimpse of its real strength. And with its rationality intact it could do so.
In plot, Dvalin breath and other attacks could only injure them and destroyed some parts of platforms. But this time, every move could kill and destroy. That was the true might of the dragon.
Dvalin: Is it because of...…that?
Primis: Yes.
Looking back Primis saw on a dark anemo storm at the place Lumine and others fought.
Primis: You have seen that thing in the bottom of that abyss, don't you?
Dvalin: .........Yes. It's terrifying. Even I don't know if I would be its match.
Primis: I know. But Mondstadt would soon face against that thing. There would be more enemies coming. So, Mondstadt must become stronger.
Dvalin: Since Mondstadt will be in danger, I will fight for it like before.
Primis: You can't handle this on your own. People of Mondstadt must raise their weapons this time to survive this calamity.
Dvalin: I understand. For now, I will find a place to rest and recover my strength as soon as possible.
Primis: Um.
Nodding his head, Primis placed his hand on its back a blue light covered Dvalin completely. With this the camouflage he put on Dvalin to hide it from Lumine Appraisal disappeared. Now, its true current strength could be seen.
