That's what he was. If you saw him as flesh and blood, I'm not sure you could stare at him for long without going blind. His presence was overwhelming, and deep inside, you knew you weren't supposed to be around him. Yet, his energy called to you, and even if you know better, all you want to do is bask in that feeling. It's dangerous, and you risk losing your mind, but I'm not sure many can resist the pull.

"Where's Ivan?" I demand, somehow finding the strength to look at him. "What did you do with him?"

"Ivan? God is gracious," he clicked his tongue, curious about the name. "Simple but powerful. I can accept that."

"Where is he?" He avoids the question, doing the same thing Ivan does when he wants to poke at me. Part of me knows this is Ivan, but it's not. Who and what this being is goes beyond a simple category. "Please, give him back."
