"And you're certain that's all he said," Vincent asked me for the fourth time.

"No, I'm withholding vital information because I get a kick out of it," I growl, getting more agitated.

I was in a bad mood. They wanted more details about Dylan, his current condition, and what he'd told us. Unfortunately, they couldn't accept that I'd told them everything. Mind-linking Dylan was a long shot. Like long distance, speaking to someone who's outside your pack is a difficult skill to learn. I hadn't expected it to work.

It plagued my thoughts since we'd left the national park. My only distractions were when the bond hit Nefra and me like a haze. We didn't have a choice. So, I'd pulled off the road and convinced her into the truck's back seat. Thankfully, we weren't on the main roads the two times it took over, so we weren't bothered. Not that I cared if anyone did, but I didn't think Nefra would appreciate it.
