章節 37: CHAPTER 36: Warlock.

Sirin sighed. "Seriously? No takers?" While taking he immediately dropped the worried and more innocent illusion.

The people slowly took a step back now that it was even harder to differentiate between Sirin and the other demon.

"Aw come on!" Sirin hissed at the humans. "As if I'm in the state to fight right now."

Despite his words the teachers could not ignore how fast the young demon was healing. Tough he was indeed not in a good condition now, every second that they waited would turn the potential battle more in his favour.

"Sirin, please cooperate." One of the humans spoke. "We will place a few seals on you and take you back to the temple, from there we will discuss whether or not you are a danger to us."

"Yea, right!" Sirin scoffed. "Tough I am willing to follow you back to the temple, I won't let you place a seal on me. If you manage to suppress my power far enough, you might decide to just lock me up instead of coming to an agreement. "

"You are wounded and outnumbered. It is in your best interest to just do as we say."

"No, I don't think so." Sirin responded as he spread out his wings.

Without waring he kicked off the ground and few as high as possible. In response the humans stepped on their swords to follow him tough in terms of speed it was impossible to compare them to Sirin's wings.

Once he felt like the humans were high enough, he let himself drop out of the air. Right before he hit the ground, he changed into a shade demon and dove into the shadows. Apart from When he had to resurface to jump from shadow to shadow, he was almost undetectable.

With the teachers on patrol, he was searching for Hendrik. He was going to break the deal he made pretty soon and if he wanted to remain in this world, Hendrik was the one person most likely to make another deal with him.

It wasn't hard for him to find the group of students; the scent and the lights of their souls were pretty clear after all.

Once he found them, he reached out and dragged Hendrik into the shadows. Leaving the group of terrified students behind.

Like this he moved through the woods as fast as he could. Once he reached the edge of the forest he turned back into his base form and took to the skies once again. He did not stop until he was far away from the mountains.

Eventually he had no choice but to land. His wounds had stopped healing and he could feel how he was losing magic since he had now broken the deal.

He placed Hendrik near the coast of a sea while Sirin himself collapsed in the sand. Tough he forced himself to stand up. he had to convince Hendrik that he needed to make a deal right now!

Sirin turned to face the rather scared and confused Hendrik.

"Hendrik this is the last time I ask. Make a deal with me."

Hendrik backed away from the monster standing in front of him. "Why? Why me?"

Sirin grinned. "All those idiots up on the mountain have their heads so far up their asses that they can't see what I can give them. They are blinded by their false sense of superiority and arrogance, they even thought that they would be able to purify a creature like me. But you, you don't lie to yourself. You know what you want and that I can give it to you." Despite him barely being able to stand he managed to grin at the human in front of him.

"Think about it. you will no longer fall behind, as my power grows so will yours! And let me tell you, it grows fast. No matter what you chose I will always hunt souls. If you refuse a deal with me now, I will just go to another world to feed. There is no way that would lead to me being incapable of devouring your oh so precious dead people. I will always win, just let me share my prize with you."

Sirin stook out his hand. "This is your last chance." He softly spoke.

Hendrik still hesitated. "Then what is it you want now?"

Sirin's grin grew wider. "I understand now that it is simply cruel for me to ask of you to hand over your own. So, just hand over yourself. You will live and be my anker to this world, so even if I leave it will be a lot easier to return. How does that sound? All you have to do is to make sure you don't die!"

Hendrik sighed. "As you said, it is my last chance." He took Sirin's hand and with that the deal was made.

Sirin immediately let a wave of relief over him as the world was no longer trying to push him out and Hendrik realised that there was now some sort of connection between them.

"That is the result of making a deal with me that will last longer than my stay in this world. It is kind of the same as when I claim a creature as my possession, it lets me know when another demon is after your soul."

Hendrik looked horrified at his right wrist where he could now see a single black stripe that was nearly identical to the one that Sirin had on the same spot.

"Don't worry about it." Sirin tried to calm Hendrik. "Its just a sign that you're basically my first warlock now. Be glad that the stripe didn't appear on your face."

Hendrik took a deep breath. "Then what now?"

Sirin just shrugged. "I guess I will eat first and then I will help you figure out how this deal works."

With that Sirin flew off to hunt souls now that he finally could.
