Although it was true he had gotten an ambush off which severely injured the monster, it wouldn't have made that much of a difference whether or not that had happened. For a moment, Kairos was wondering whether or not the effects of succeeding in the ambush had increased his power, but he hadn't felt anything like that in the process.

After not getting an answer, Si spoke up once more.

"If you could do this, why didn't you just do that from the beginning? Is it possible that it comes at an increased cost?"
