It was the beginning of the night, and the moon was out illuminating the bar and streets. It was a clear sky, and you can see the stars shining bright, crickets were chirping, and you could hear a lone owl, "HOO".
Suddenly, this atmosphere was interrupted by 2 loud noises, "BANG, BANG". The sound of gunshots echoing through the calm and quiet small town.
In the bar, the group was watching the now corpses bleed out, a great amount of blood flowing out of a hole in their heads. Staining the wooden floor and pooling next to the body. Walking over to the bodies, John asked, "You guys alright?".
The group replying, "Yeah." "Mm-hmm." "Yes."
It seemed that although Hershel replied affirmatively, he did not like the fact that John had killed the two men. But he understood that there was no other choice it was them or the two men. Taking the fact that the man his daughter was involved with, had just killed two people, and shoving it to the back of his mind. To the land of forgetfulness. He looked a little queasy, like he would through up any minute, but he managed not to. The alcohol having some, influence on his feeling right now.
Glen was still a little shocked by what had happened, but he thought about the bigger picture. He thought about the group at the farm that still needed them.
Rick was the calmest person, other than John. He seemed to completely disregard the fact that John just killed the two people. But being a cop, this was not the first time he had seen someone killed. Although, he was shocked at the fact that John had reacted so quickly. But then he thought about all the other amazing things the young man had done and he wasn't as shocked. The young man's feats, making Rick numb to the constant shock.
Hershel after fighting off his urge to vomit, with sweat pouring out of his face, says, "Let's get back to the farm." John and Rick then walked to one of the bodies each and looted them for their weapons, John handing the Revolver he found on Tony to Hershel after.
With the bodies now looted, they start to walk to the door.
The old wooden floor creaking from their weight, especially John. John was 6 foot tall, and he was around 210 pounds of pure muscle. When Glen walked you couldn't even hear him, the man was very skinny and nimble.
Outside they can hear a car pull up in front of the bar. They quickly find cover as the light from the car shines into the bar, they couldn't see how many people there were because the light was blinding them, they had gotten used to the low light within the bar. It would take some time for their eyes to adjust.
In cover at the front of the door, they hear the call stop before they hear the sound of car doors opening and closing loudly. They heard the doors open and close three times, now understanding there were three people coming towards the bar.
The man shouted for Dave and Tony, but he doesn't get a reply and the group inside stayed quiet. Another voice asks if this is where they said they would be, but a third man panicking a little says, "Roamers nearby, two street over".
Another man saying, "It's Hot."
A man walks to the door as he says, "Dave, Tony"
One of the other men not appreciating the noise as it would draw roamers say, "Shut up, we'll find them".
A man looks in the window, but his view is blocked by a curtain, and he was unable to see them. They then head off, the group exhaling a breath they didn't know they had been holding. Decides to wait and see if the group will come back or not.
The group eventually decides to stop waiting. They make a plan to run out back and escape in the car. As they get up to execute their plan, they hear gunshots. Going back to cover Rick looks out the door and car see the men outside talking about killing some nearby roamers.
It seems the men had already searched the entire area and could not find their friends. They then start to walk over to the door of the bar. While walking a man, presumably the leader says, "We're looking for Dave and Tony and no one checks the damn bar?"
The men outside start to open the door, but Glen moves in front of the door. Now knowing that there is someone inside. The leader says, "We don't want any trouble. We are just looking for our friends".
John's group can hear the men discussing, am man saying, "What do we do? Bum rush the door."
The leader saying, "No we don't know how many there are inside." He then says, "We don't want any trouble, if something happened tell us. This place is crawling with corpses, they are everywhere."
The group hears the men's footsteps as they walk away from the door. Rick not thinking about what his action will cause, says, "They drew on us, we had no choice!"
The men hearing this stop and one of them asks if Dave and Tony are still alive. Rick saying, "No".
One of the men says, "We should just go."
Another man angrily tells him off saying, "No I'm not telling Jane. I'm not going to go back and tell them that Dave and Tony got shot by some assholes in a bar".
Rick shouts back, "Your friends drew on us. They gave us no choice! I'm sure we have all lost enough people, why don't you just get in your car and leave?" The men don't answer, they start shooting into the bar, breaking the windows. John and Rick shoot back, covering Glen and Hershel as they run to the back of the bar.
The shooting from outside stops, Rick reloads as he shouts at the men, telling them to stop as there has already been enough damage done today. Rick gives Glen a signal to go into the stock room as they heard a noise coming from the back door.
John follows Glen, moving as quietly as he possibly can. Glen walking into the stock room first, going down the stairs with John following close behind him.
They hear bottle clinking together, and then the door handle starts to turn. Glen seeing this shoots his shotgun, shattering the glass window of the door. The man's fate unknown to them.
Rick shouts out to them, but they answer back, saying they are fine. Glen then walks to the side of the door and takes cover, pumping his shotgun. Hershel then comes walking into the storeroom, telling Glen to make a run for the car as John and himself covers him.
Glen was nervous but gets ready as John counts down, reaching 0, Glen runs out the door. John and Hershel covering him as they both shoot the man, hitting him in the shoulder and leg. The man falling on the ground, grunting and groaning.
The man had managed to get some shots off and they saw Glen hiding behind a dumpster, he wasn't moving. Rick then comes running to them, asking the situation. Hershel saying that Glen was hiding behind the dumpster and might have been hit. John then goes to the dumpster sneakily, arriving next to Glen. John saw him breathing heavily, in shock from getting shot at for the first time in his life.
They go to leave for the car but someone on the roof, shoots at them. Hitting the ground in front of them. A car then pulls up to the building the person shooting at them was, the person driving saying to jump. The person on the roof jumps off the roof, landing on another, but he slides down and falls off. They could hear him hit a fence as he started screaming in pain.
The screaming man, shouts for help from the man driving but the man apologizes as he starts to drive away. Before he could get far, however John shot him in the chest, causing the car to crash into the side of a building down the street.
The situation now handled with no more people shooting at them. John and Glen come out of hiding and Rick and Hershel run over to them. Before they ran however, they saw a couple walkers start to feast on the man Hershel and John had shot. His scream, bloodcurdling, as his nose was bit off and a walker ripped open his stomach, exposing his intestines.
Now grouped together they go towards the man who had fallen of the building and see him on the fence, his leg was impaled by one of the wide, sharp, arrow shaped spike on the fence. The spike going through his thigh close to his kneecap, luckily, he didn't break his bone.
Rick decided to save him, Glen tried to dissuade him but failed. Rick having a kind heart, couldn't bear to leave the young man stuck there. Rick then tells the man to be quiet or he will shoot him, Hershel saying that might be the answer as they won't be able to pull his leg off the fence without shredding the muscle, he may bleed out before they get the chance to cauterize, they could stick the wound.
Rick then asks Hershel if they can cut off the leg, Hershel saying it is possible. Rick then asks Glen if they still had that hatchet in the car, but Glen shakes his head. John hid his big ass knife in the back of his pants, as he wanted things to happen like it did on the show. He wanted Shane to die soon.
Rick then asks if his knife would be sharp enough to cut the bone, Hershel nodding but he says it will take time. Rick says to do it, Hershel is about to start, he makes a Turna kit and tightens it around the man's leg. Before he could start however, walkers come in droves. Panicking Hershel abandons the boy and goes toward the car.
Rick seeing that they are going to be surrounded, grabs Randels's leg and pulls up, ripping his leg up and off the fence. Randal screaming as it happened. They then carried him to the car, blindfolding him, they then drove off away from the walkers. They stopped on the side of the rode when they were far away from the town. Hershel then wrapped Randal's leg stopping the bleeding.
Back at the farm, Lori and Shane had made it back and Lori got out asking someone from the group where Rick was, but they told her he hadn't come back yet. She was pissed at Shane and walked off with Andrea helping her.
In the house Beth was still in her bed. Maggie was in there holding her hand, Amy was also there supporting Maggie. Rubbing her back and saying that John would bring Hershel back so he could help Beth.
Maggie nodded while rubbing her sister's hand, she had no doubt that John would return with her father.
In the morning, the next day Maggie was with Beth and asked Patricia how she was, she said that Beth was dehydrated and the best she could do without Hershel was hook her up to an IV. Patricia then left the room, Andrea walking into the room passing by her. Andrea talked to Maggie for a while before she left.
Andrea walked over to a car where Daryl, Merle, T-dog, and Shane were standing. They had the car packed and were going to drive into town and get Rick and his group that went to town.
Before they could leave however, a car came driving to the farm.
When they stopped, John and the others got out of the car. Carl and Lori came over and hugged Rick. Maggie came running over and Hershel opened his arms for her, but she ignored him and hugged John. John couldn't even describe the look on Hershel's face, it was absolutely priceless. Hershel then walked to the house as he told Patricia to prepare the shed for surgery.
Rick and Lori then talked, Rick noticed that Lori was banged up, and he found out that she had gone after them and got into a car accident. John thought as he hugged Maggie, "What a dumb bitch!"
Rick and Lori were interrupted by T-dog when he said, "Who the hell is that?"
Glen then explained about Randal to the group, Shane was pissed that Rick brought him to the farm. But he was shut down by Hershel quickly, saying, "Let's get one thing clear this is my farm. I didn't want you here, but Rick talked me out of kicking you out. It doesn't mean I have to like it."
Shane then left the house sighing. Andrea seemed to be in agreement with Shane but not for the right reason, she had some weird relationship going on with him. John also agreed with Shane but the way he did things to convince the group was stupid and he often times comes across as unhinged.
John, Amy, and Maggie then spent some time together in the kitchen, they then followed Maggie as she went upstairs and saw Hershel checking up on Beth. He said he would give her a sedative, so her body didn't have to work as hard. He then left, John and his girls stayed with Beth for a while.
John stood up suddenly and walked over to Beth before picking her up. Beth was surprised but she was still in a daze, but she did wrap her arms around John's neck. Maggie and Amy also looked at him with a questioning gaze, but John just said, "Let's take a walk. You've been in this room cooped up for too long right?", Beth didn't answer but her eyes did shine for a split second.
John then walked out of the room and down the stairs, going out of the house and walking together with Amy and Maggie as he carried Beth. They walked a couple laps around the farm along the fence, then they went back to the house. John brought her upstairs and put her on the bed, Hershel came in as he saw them enter the house and gave Beth her sedative.
Giving John a grateful look, Hershel left. John and his girls, then watched as Beth fell asleep before they all left the room. Maggie brought them to her room, and they lay down on Maggie's bed together, then they slept. Maggie and Amy were exhausted because they had stayed up last night taking care of Beth.
