章節 85: Snatch!
Just as Nica and Alyssia were beginning to tear apart the enemy crew the captain looked towards the woman by his side giving her a signal with his eyes.
The woman raised her outstretched arms towards where Nica and Alyssia had previously appeared and spoke in a confident tone of voice as she made a grabbing motion with both hands. "Snatch!"
As if responding to her action and word that she had spoken, a change took place upon the battlefield.
Far away Nica was aiming towards her next target and was about to pull the trigger.
Suddenly the gun disappeared from her hands and Nica had a look of confusion on her face but after some thinking she came to a conclusion. "Devil Fruit?"
Alyssia had already briefed her crew about the mysterious powers of Devil Fruits and the many unexplainable powers that are granted to the person who eats it.
Although she could not yet come to a conclusion from what had happened, she was able to guess that it may not work on living things or at least ones that are of a certain weight or height otherwise she may have been targeted instead of her weapon.
She quickly looked towards the opposite ship to check if her weapon had disappeared completely or if it had reappeared elsewhere.
As Alyssia was clearing her way through the enemy ship, she went to spin her staff so that the scythe blades would cut into the next couple of people near her but suddenly it disappeared from her hands.
The next series of movements that she was about to make stopped as she flickered out of the group after using their bodies as a stepping stone.
She jumped up onto one person as they attacked and kicked off them using Electro and launched herself to the next landing on that person's shoulder.
Very quickly she ran across the bodies and jumped from person to person shocking them with a high voltage of Electro.
It was more than enough to incapacitate them and the force of each step or jump carried enough power to cause them a great amount of damage to their bodies and break or dislocate their chest, shoulder or neck bones or cause enough damage to the skull to kill them instantly with the addition of Electro.
She continued to flicker around the ship and arrive up high to see if there was any changes.
Her eyes eventually rested upon the location where a man and woman stood, she held two weapons in her hands and passed the staff over to the largely built man beside her.
The woman looked at the weapons with a greedy look in her eyes as they appeared in her hands but the staff was too heavy to wield so she put the staff in her partners hands.
She could tell from the shape and the power displayed by the two people that wielded them that they were not ordinary weapons.
She stretched out her hand again after holding the sniper rifle in her hands in the other and said. "Snatch."
The next moment, a bag full of bullets and other tools appeared in her hands and she quickly placed it on her shoulder.
She did not notice that there was a change on the weapon in her hands as a part of it had clicked into place.
Nica and Alyssia were always careful of others being able to use their weapons so various safety devices were built into their weapons.
When Nica was using her sniper rifle of other guns, they would have the safety removed before fired a shot each time because it automatically resets after a shot or after a certain amount of time has passed.
Nica had lined up her shot and was about to pull the trigger which would put the safety back on but the sniper rifle was snatched away before that happened.
Luckily, enough time had passed to allow the safety device to automatically switch on after the short time had passed.
Just as the leader and the woman beside him were about to enter the battle and try to turn the tables, the woman aimed the gun towards Nica who was far away while the large man clutched the staff tightly in his hands.
The moment the gun was fired and as the man begun to raise the staff up, both weapons released a surge of Electro.
The woman was electrocuted instead of a bullet being fired and passed out right away while the large man was stunned enough to be weak in the knees and fall over.
Although he was very strong and had a tough body, it was not enough to protect keep him on his feet after being shocked by the weapon within his hands.
As he fell, he released the staff and it fell downwards but suddenly a figure flickered in front of him and caught the staff.
The staff twirled and the scythe blade entered deep into the neck of man as he was falling.
Alyssia quickly moved towards the woman and sent a kick towards the throat of the woman ending her life.
She picked up the bag and the gun and put them on her back and began to quickly deal with the remaining people.
Meanwhile on Alyssia's ship, after she had been robbed of her bag and gun, Nica climbed down from where she was and did not remain within the woman's sight.
From what she had seen, the person was able to snatch her belongings but she had only snatched items that were out in the open or what the woman knew the location of.
If she stayed out of her line of sight then the same situation may not take place again so she decided to test her theory.
She removed her two pistols and began to assist those on the ship who were caught up fighting the remaining ship that had gotten closer and were attempting to board the ship.
After firing many shots, many of the enemies numbers were reduced and the burden upon her crew members was reduced.
She made use of the various climbing and parkour movements that Alyssia had taught her in order to roll or jump out of the way of incoming weapons or gunfire as she was reloading her guns or was dodging and counterattacking with her own shots.
Luckily she had kept some ammunition cartridges for her other gun attached to a bel on her waist and leg so it had not been stolen.
She had only been seen reaching inside of the bag she wore to reload the sniper rifle so nothing else had been stolen but the bag and the sniper rifle.
As she was helping to reduce the casualties within her own crew, Alyssia had finally arrived back next to her and dropped the bag and sniper by her before running across to the next ship.
