(1) Osteoarthritis in traditional Chinese medicine: there are some interesting research papers written on the subject that look at the traditional explanation for osteoarthritis that are still relevant in modern times and can be used for pain management. One of these points is the exacerbation of joint pain when exposed to certain elements, leading to the formation of the hypothesis that wind-cold-damp exploit a body compromised by aging to result in damaged joints. Hence, traditional cures include methods to chase away the wind-cold-damp, such as hot compresses and physical therapy, all of which have been confirmed by extensive modern research to have good outcomes.

(3) Righteousness family: an idiom that means to place righteousness above blood ties and to call out and even punish the wrongs done by family.

(4) As guilty as thieves: an idiom that means to have something on one’s conscience. I’m not actually convinced thieves feel all that guilty though…
