章節 3: Our Old House

"Thank you, Mr. Harrison. And thank you to the students, teachers, parents, and staff who made these four years everything that they were.

It's my honor today to deliver the commencement address for this incredible student body and It is my pleasure to welcome students, families, and faculty to graduation day at our university. Every one of you has made an impact on the graduates who sit here today."

Mason who has just received his degree from Mr.Harrison who is the principal of the university, uttered after he stood in front of the microphone.

He was dressed in his Graduation Gown and there was the Mortar board on his head and most importantly a huge proud smile on his face.

Getting his law degree and with a very high score finally after going through three years of depression because of his parents' divorce yet he did not give up was something he felt proud of.

Mason licked both of his lips and continued speaking "I stand here before you, looking back on four years of legacy we have all made together. You have got to find what you love.

And that is as true for your work as it is for your loved ones, Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work.

And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you will know when you find it."

He wanted to give some motivation to the other students who have not graduated yet because he knows how hard and stressful university or school in general can be.

Everyone that was present in the room applauded for him.

Mason was one of the most popular student in his university because he is Hudson Verlice's son not only that but also he was popular around students because of his appearance since he is very handsome and attractive man.

Due to how much time he spent in the gym during the three years after his parents' divorce, he did built a very attractive body shape which looked even more attractive with his perfect height.

He also was one of these men who seriously care about their skin, hair, body and clothes, their appearance in general which is why he always makes sure to look and smell good no matter how tired he can be, he has to look representable.

He definitely took that habit from his father who although is a great lawyer that doesn't have much free time, still makes time to take care of himself and his appearance.

Mason does not like too many colors which is why he always sticks to the black because he feels that black makes him look elegant and fancy, but sometimes he adds colors like gray, red or white to his style just for to change every now and then

One of the many things that Mason was popular for in university is how he styles his black thick hair into a man bun and leaves some tufts resting randomly on his forehead and on back of his neck.

This hair style was one of the reasons why many people in university were crushing on him, but they were unlucky because Mason only focused on his studies and spent time with his friend group.

The moment Mason got down from the stage he got engulfed in hugs that were given to him by his friend group.

He wanted to go toward his parents that were in the audience but his friends were literally squeezing the hell out of him because they were all super happy because they finally finished these four miserable years in the university which is why Mason had to give his parents a sign that he will come to them later.

" So he just ran away?" Wondered Mason who is now sitting in the back of the car that was driven by their chauffeur.

After the graduation ceremony, Mason's parents took him out and they had dinner together.

His mother Maria bought him a new Mercedes Benz GT63S as a gift for his graduation.

He was not happy because the gift was expensive, he was happy because it's a gift from mother who still remembers what his favorite car is.

That's what cheered him up the most, this does not mean he did not freak out when his mother gave him the keys of his new Mercedes.

After the divorce his parents became friends, they did not hate each other or anything similar to what usually happens between two people when they get divorced.

Maria and Hudson were and still so nice to each other which Mason could not be more grateful for.

Soon after the family dinner, Maria got a call and had to leave for some " work problems", Mason acted like he believed her even though he literally heard her calling the person "baby" and " honey" while talking on the phone.

His mother little lie made him content and grateful for the fact that his mother kept her promise even though she had to lie.

Right now, Mason was alone with his father in the back of their car, Hudson was checking some cases on his tablet while Mason was resting his head on the window which is when he remembered to ask about Julian.

" Yes, the Segas, well we are not hundred percent sure that the people that came to help him escape were them but who else would they be? It has to be his gang. They got inside the court building and easily brought him out, I still have no idea how they did that, they are still searching."

Hudson explained to his son while showing some pictures that were taken from the CCTV cameras footage that they got from the court building, which also shows how Julian walked out of his cell with two masked man and walked out of the building as if he was just an ordinary person and not a member of the wanted gang.

As much as Mason hate these Segas gang, he can not deny the fact that they are so smart and fearless.

They do whatever they want whenever they want carelessly as if they own the whole country.

" By the way, I have a gift for you." When Hudson talked again he snatched his son out of his thoughts about the Segas.

Hudson slowly gave two tickets to Mason who kept staring at him waiting for an explanation " I did not know what to get you exactly but I still remember how much you wanted to visit Italy. I booked a flight to Italy for you and maybe you can take a friend with you. Also, I made sure to book a hotel there and a guide who is a chauffeur so he can bring you wherever you want. You can spend the whole summer there if you want."

Mason's facial expressions died down as he blankly stared at the tickets which made Hudson furrow his eyebrows in confusion " Did you not like it? Do want to go somewhere else?"

" No, dad. I liked it. I always wanted to visit Italy one day, I'm so grateful but please just cancel the flight."

Said Mason with an apologetic sad grin on his face because he seriously did not want to look like he is not a grateful son who rejects his parents' gift.

Hudson nodded, he will cancel the flight but he is still confused " But why? You have always wanted to travel the world after finishing university."

" I know, but I want something different for this summer, dad. This probably will piss you off, but I searched and found that our old house is for rent, I want to rent it for the entire summer. I want to stay in it for a period of time because I really missed our home."

What Mason said surprised his father who did not even know what to say " Mason, I…"

Hudson was interrupted by the ringtone of his phone which is why he gestured his son to wait so that he can pick up the call " Lawyer Hudson is speaking."

" Mr. Verlice we apologize for calling you in this time, but we need you in the hospital. The police found Julian's dead body with a message specially for you from The Segas."
