章節 51: Curse mark~2!
At 8 in the evening, Subaru was occupied in his studies related to the time paradox. He was nearing to completion of its whole theory and halfway through his first time-related magic.
[Regressor] was also time-related magic but it wasnt only time-based so he didnt regard it as his first. The room was dimly lighted as he was studying on his table with a special kind of light orb flying in mid-air. Subaru created this light orb which he felt comfortable to eyes. As he was about to turn the page and start the last volume, he sensed something approaching his cottage.
The thing was able to penetrate, Subaru's barrier and got through his window. Subaru stood up with his guard on, only to be greeted by a small envelope floating in front of his eyes.
He was surprised that it wasnt meant for an attack. He felt a drop of mana from it but he wasnt able to recognize whose magic signature it was. His olfactory nerves told him that this person was none other than Chisato.
He had smelt her mature fragrance before and connecting it with the unidentified mana signature, he knew it was her.
Just like Subaru, Chisato also had zero mana reading so it was the first time he felt her mana.
He walked toward it and snatched it in an instant. Taking out the letter he smelt it once more before reading it. Even he doesn't accept it in front of anyone, but he loved how she smelt.
He didnt know whether it was perfume or soap, however, he didn't want to think, of what smell could leave such a strong impression on him.
He found her address on the letter and after a quick fresh up, he started floating toward rhe designated place. Since he couldn't teleport, he used an invisibility spell over himself, to avoid unnecessary attention.

"Hmm..hmm...hmm.." Humming happily with her eyes focused, Chisato was going through her whole house while checking every nook and cranny to see if she had left anything unattended. Even she used her magic to clean her house, she couldn't settle until she check it herself.
*Ding**Dong*
Her steps halted with her heart jumping up and down. She inhaled and exhaled deeply before she composed herself and walked toward the door.
She knew who it was so without checking, she opened the door.
"Good evening, Subaru". She greeted with a smile while holding her breath.
" Evening doc". Subaru nodded before he entered her house as she directed.
Subaru took a look at Chisato before walking inside. She was wearing a black top with hot pants, revealing her long smooth legs.
She was still wearing her glasses with her hair tied in a ponytail. Subaru didnt let his stare become obvious before he moved inside.
After passing a gallery, they both entered a big living room.
"Please sit here. I will bring something for you". She directed Subaru toward a couch before disappearing inside the house.
Subaru fell on the comfortable piece of cloud and started his inspection.
He didnt find any weird magical signature or cameras in the room. But the house was weirdly magical isolated which made him a little troubled.
No place on earth he has visited where mana presence seemed so little to him.
Chisato came back with a heavy tray containing snacks and beverages. She leaned forward to put it on the table while voluntarily showing off her cleavage to the person sitting in front of her.
She had a smirk as she expected him ogling at her, but when she glanced at him, her expectation shattered.
Subaru was texting on his phone while smiling happily.
" How are you able to use your phone in the school". With an annoyed tone, she asked the oblivion dense.
"Huh? Why do you care?" Subaru glanced upward toward her after throwing the phone back in the dimensional storage.
"Yeah, why would I care". Subaru shrugged his shoulder and leaned back after picking a cookie.
Chisato glanced at him and after giving a none visible smile, she took a chair and sat opposite to Subaru. Subaru was staring at her and she at the cookie.
".. What?" Subaru asked.
"What?" She replied fixing her gaze back to him while hiding her true intention completely from Subaru. She was a veteran at hiding her emotions and internal conflicts.
"Start speaking." As Subaru said he bit the cookie. Chisato exhaled before she started to speak.
"First I want to ask something?"
"Go on". Subaru liked the cookie, and since he didn't feel any poison or mana from it, he took another one.
" What do you know about yourself. I mean do you know where your powers come from and how are you able to hide it so precisely?" Chisato asked as she crossed her smooth leg over another with her chin rested on her fist further down on her thigh.
"I don't know for the first part. And I have practiced and trained myself to hide it". He lied for the initial half as he didn't trust Chisato, as if in the present.
" There are people who have trained and forged themselves to become a perfect being and want to reach where you already are. But still the absolute shroud you have achieved is nearly impossible for anyone to attain."
*Crunch*
"So...is there any reason, you know about?" Subaru asked curiously as the thing she stated seemed believable. He knew how experienced and admirable Sasha was but still, she couldn't hide her presence and mana from outsiders. It was right to say that no ordinary would be able to sense her but those who have fought various battles or were standing on the peak of humanity could detect her from a long distance.
"I think you must know that I possess something similar right?" Subaru nodded.
"The reason is simple. We don't borrow our powers but create within ourselves. We are the origin of those power, on which this world rely and might perish without it. " She twirled her index finger in front of her face when a golden glow started floating around it.
Subaru saw it and felt her mana for the first time.
(A/N:- The amount he sensed from the envelope was too little to even call it a glimpse of her power so it was basically his first time.)
Even in small amounts, it was overwhelming for sure. He has faced Sasha and Fubuki and those knights too and has felt their mana at their maximum potential. But this mere spoonful of mana was completely overlapping the seas mana he has faced until now.
'So this is the thou beings are capable of huh'. Subaru thought as he picked the muffin next.
"The difference between the mana we, the absolute being possess and you have lies in its purity extents". Subaru raised his brows before he questioned.
" So my mana is impure compared to you?" He wasn't bothered by it as it wasn't an insult or sort to him and calling his mana dirty, was something he didn't know how to react about.
"No, it's the opposite. We have less impure mana than yours. You contain something which we failed to pull off. And I am certain that you are the only being who has this kind of mana and no one else". Subaru smirked as he took the coffee.
" So there is something which the almighty being couldn't get?" He asked with a little mockery as he still felt the omnipotent thing a little out of place.
"Nothing is limitless. So us our capabilities. Even we are the light that has saved countless lives before and is known as the ruler of all the universes ever existed, we arent the ultimatum of living entities. We can still die and this can be done with a certain amount of power. However, it's still a fact that the power required to cease our existence is far than you could imagine. I am not boasting so please don't take me wrong". Subaru nodded as sensing her powers, he got a glimpse of what she was made of.
" So my existence is disturbing to you or maybe your fellow beings?" Subaru asked as it was not so hard to guess after knowing what might he holds.
"Yes, but since they think that you are in a singular quantity, they doesnt see you as a threat but it's not the same for my brother. I can tell that he knows what you are and what you can do, that's why your life is going to be problematic in the near future". She said with a tinge of worthiness in her voice and this time she didn't try to hide it.
" I am okay with it. But if I kill one of you, not you of course, then don't your family members make me their target?" Subaru asked something terrifying which Chisato had thought and she was scared to even think about it.
"It's true. But can I or anyone else could stop you from involving yourself with him?" Subaru stared directly into her eyes without losing focus, for the first time. She immediately got stiffened at her place with her hand clutching the armrest of the chair.
"He drew the first blood by nearly taking the life of the person dearest to me. So even if you or your entire family come down to face me, no one, I repeat no one is going to save him". Chisato's breathing stopped for several seconds looking at Subaru's changed demeanor but soon he returned feasting on the remaining snacks as she also relaxed her muscles.
" I know. However I want to tell you something which you probably wont believe, but If you can then for this once trust my words". Subaru nodded for her to speak.
"Even my family members or my brother. The humans you live with or the monsters you fight with, turns against you at once, I promise that I will stay by your side until the end. No matter what you do or whome you choose, you will find me covering your back until death separates us". Subaru had his eyes wide on this confession as this came out of totally nowhere. But before he could reply to her anything, he felt something uncomfortable between his legs.
He glanced downward with his body getting hot and found a huge boner which was uncontrollably twitching inside his pants.
He suddenly started feeling little drunks which he never was able to feel after coming into this world. The whole scenery started floating in front of his eyes but he didn't miss the sly smirk of the woman sitting with arrogance in front of me.
'I knew I shouldn't have believed her...'
