I didn't want to stop kissing Malcolm, but the back of my head had a dull ache that was spreading down my back. Gently, I eased back, panting to catch my breath.
As though he was feeling the same way, he pressed his lips to my temple. "I'll grab you some broth."
"Not just yet." I snuggled closer into his arms not wanting to let go of the safety of his embrace so soon. Right now, I could pretend the world outside this room didn't exist or that real monsters didn't hide under beds or in closets.
"Once you're healed up, what do you think about going Earthside for a bit?"
"Are you serious?" I sat up slightly to look at him and a fresh wave of dizziness had me laying back down and squeezing my eyes shut for a few moments.
"I take it that's a yes?" he asked, but his voice was full of concern.
"Hell yes." I smiled at him. "Though there are some things I need to do first."
"Mini-golf?"
I laughed. "Of course, after I get my weapons back and I need to talk with Maggie."
