I slouched forward to get the phone, which was standing at the edge of the table. Excruciating twinges tore me apart and stabbed me powerfully in the belly and I felt the need to scream for the pain. If only I had energy left in my aching body, I would scream all my voice until I was left voiceless. Little did I imagine that uterine contractions would have started that soon and right when nobody was there to help me. Since Cameron just left, how would I drag myself to the hospital now?

I slouched even more forward. Damn, the phone was so far and unreachable.

Until, miraculously, my fingers finally touch the phone, yet not enough to grab it. The next sudden contraction made me retrocede in the movement and forced me to grab my belly and scream in pain.

I threw my head behind and cried for help, who was I even calling since nobody was there with me?
