章節 4: A trap
Zharion had left. Arthur was checking the papers, closely reading each one after the other and writing down something as well. After he finished with all his work he stood up and went to his study. He unlocked the chest door and kept the papers in it, locked the door and moved out of the room. He went straight to the dining room. It was already noon and he had not eaten anything since morning. The morning workout with the soldiers had been tiring and had made him hungry. He kept stuffing the food in the mouth in such a speed as if he has not eaten anything from three-four days. He got up when he was full and turned around to leave.
He got busy with his regular routine. You know a king always has enough to do. The day will always fall short to finish the work. Arthur went over to his meetings, decisions, finances, all the management systems and other work. One after the other he was working on all the things.
The day had been obviously tiring. He went out for a walk. The sun had already started setting down indicating its evening. It bushes were high ahead with trees around there. Arthur went down to the corner near a big rock. Soon two men appeared before him. It seem as though they had been already waiting for him behind the rock. They had wrapped themselves in black dusky shawl. Arthur stoped in his tracks after reaching them. This place seemed to isolated at this time. No one was around. ( Perhaps its the best place at this best time to have secret meetings.)
They bowed down to him and he nodded,
"Your highness! The news must have reached that man by now. As mentioned by you earlier we have taken care that this looks like a rumour. We have managed to convince a few trusted soldiers for today. When should we ask them to head over?"
Arthur sighed and said,
"I want them to do it tonight. It should be completely dark before you go. I don't want to give that mystery man any chance. Get the soldiers ready to go."
Saying this turned away without even waiting for them to answer and started going back to the palace but then halted after a couple of steps. He turned his head slightly,
"I don't want any carelessness. This shouldn't show up like a trap nor should anyone know about this."
He just left after giving his instructions. He reached the front door of the palace. Without any emotion on the face as usual we spoke in a loud and a chilly tone,
" Tell Lord Zharion, I need to see him urgently in my hall." One of the soldier over there bowed down to him and rushed to carry out the orders. He soon came back at the door with Zharion along with him. Arthur had already gone in.
Zharion waved at the soldier in motion to go. He took quick long paces and headed towards the hall where he saw Arthur gazing outside the window with a cup of tea in the hand. He asked hurriedly,
" What's the matter Arthur? Why did you call me this urgently at this hour? Is there anything serious?"Arthur didn't respond and turned around slowly. He siped his eyes tea, walked towards the coach and sat down,
"I didn't mean to disturb you Mr.Zharion. If you are free, I need you to do me a favor."
Zharion who was confused all this while instantly said,
"F___favor? Your highness, how did this time come that you need to ask me for a favor. If you say, I will give my life for you. You called me urgently so I___."
Before he could speak Arthur stopped him and ordered him to sit,
" I didn't ask you for your life. For now just sit down. Have a seat and enjoy this tea."
Zharion obeyed and sat down. He thought to himself 'Did Arthur summon me at this hour to join him for tea!' Left with no other option he held the cup infront of him. He siped the tea without a word.
Arthur watched him all this while.
