Once Lavender realized Kreznik had no opinion of his own to offer, she began suggesting baby names to see if he liked them or not. "What do you think of Ash or Rowan? Those are the only ones on this list that seem okay to me at this point."

He truly didn't have an opinion. Neither of those names were remotely K'rllian. 

"Why not go with Ash?" he ended up suggesting. 

Kreznik went with that solely because she was looking at him expectantly and he had to pick something. Ash was one syllable just like Sage and she had wanted them to match. 

Lavender smiled at him. Over the past several months, her smiles had grown wider. Perhaps it was because she thought her husband had finally gotten past the worst of his grief. He honestly didn't know but he was glad she was happy. 

"Ash it is! That'll sound good with Sage anyway."

It seemed his thought process had been correct. Somehow, that was more of a relief than it should have been.
