章節 261: It Had To Be Her

When Ava needed to get ready for bed, she put her book down and looked over at Zeldris, who was still engrossed in a YouTube video. She had to tap his arm to get his attention. 

"Zel, I have work in the morning so I need to sleep. You should get some too."

He took an earbud out and asked her to repeat that so she did. He asked if he could finish the video first so she let him. He had been very accommodating earlier so she should return the favor. 

When he was done, he handed the earbuds and phone back to her, looking like he was about to go, before pausing. "When are you doing this?"

"Doing what?"

"Donating your genetic material."

"A few weeks. They have to match me and the surrogate up hormone wise, which is why I'm taking this stuff. I'm looking forward to having it over and done with…why do you ask?" Ava asked curiously. 

Zeldris wouldn't meet her eyes. "You shouldn't have to go alone if they're going to do something painful."
