Cora slept until someone knocked on her door. The police were here to question her more than they had last night.

She sighed as she let them in. Her rib hurt. She should really take some pain medicine. Telling them she had a broken rib should help her case. She had a copy of the hospital report to show them. 

"Miss Bailey, what is your relationship to Charles Bailey?" Officer Riley asked. 

"Unfortunately, he's my father."

He exchanged a glance with his partner, Officer Durano. "We looked into the incident in Seattle you mentioned. You'll be able to get that restraining order on a permanent basis without any problems but it will have to wait until he's out of jail. For a second offense, he's going to be in there for a few years at least.
