章節 186: A done deal
Violet looked at me seriously as if analysing every little move and twitch my face might make to verify my words.
"Mr Pendragon…" her words became softer and more respectful. I also noticed that her gaze softened up as she looked at me.
"It is my pleasure to host you at my college. But I don't think there is a need for formalities is there?" she asked with a smile.
I shook my head while mimicking her smile, "sure, there is no need for that here. Since you have verified my identity, I'm assuming you have the key then." I asked.
"Very impatient aren't you Tom? Don't worry, the key has been closer to you than you might think." At the end of her words, she raised a hand and twisted it in an anticlockwise fashion.
In the middle of the desk, a set of runes lit up that were previously hidden. And then the table began to light up before a hole formed in the middle of it. and from the hole, a silver key emerged. It shimmered in the dim lighting of the evening sun that shone through the window giving it a rustic splendour rarely seen.
"A marvellous key," I mumbled as I stared at it.
Violet nodded, "indeed it is. A beautiful one. This school has been in charge of protecting it since your great grandfather visited. I was never told the reason why we should guard it. I was only informed to do so under the orders of the previous headmaster. Now here, take it." she said, grabbing the key and chucking it across the desk in my direction.
I stared at it as it flew in the air before catching it casually with telekinesis. The key hovered in front of my face as I gazed at it in a more intricate fashion.
'Is it the right key?' I asked in my head.
[yep, that's the key. Looks exactly how I left it.] Drak responded quickly.
I nodded contently and with a *pop* the key vanished out of thin air and appeared in my Mindspace where it hovered over Drak's oversized palm.
Violet was probably numb to what I was doing or simply didn't have a clue what I did, but she was rather calm.
"Now I think it's time you get going To-"
"Ah-ah-ah, why are you in a hurry to see me off? I still have some other stuff I need from you." I said with a sly grin. Violet's mouth twitched as she have a side glance at Randal who could only sigh helplessly before nodding.
"Don't worry, I don't actually have much that I need. Only the piertotum locomotor spell. Some goblin wrought steel and access to the area where the beasts are kept. Can you do that for me?" I asked slowly and casually.
Instantly, Violet's once dim eyes brightened up as if the world had regained colour. it seemed she was expecting me to ask for more. But the honest truth of the matter was, I didn't have much need for other spells or items. I could buy them with money or points. There was truly nothing that came to mind that would beckon me to use my extortion skills.
Getting the piertotum locomotor spell was simply to skip all the training I would need in order to recreate it on my own. And since Drak wasn't going to help me I would rather just skip it entirely. This would also let me increase my range of vision at any one given time. there was a lot more versatility with these spells. I could make iron puppets using my metal control ability. It would only require me to tweak the spell a bit in order to control them. Nothing I couldn't do with diligence and hard work.
The goblin wrought steel was for my suit of armour in order to not only make it more lethal but to give it the ability to destroy Horcrux's. something I would need.
As for the beast area. That was a buffet of abilities waiting to be plundered for my use. I couldn't wait to get there.
Violet was having a hard time restraining her enthusiasm.
"Done! Deal! I'll have them sent to your room. by the time you get there, they should be on your bed. Naturally, don't apparate there. Go for a walk or something. Maybe a meal. You seem famished.
As for the pass to the beast area, that can also be done. You will have access for one day. That day can be whenever you want. You only need to come here and inform me beforehand. Anything else?" she asked as her brow twitched. It seemed to be out of courtesy, not an invitation to extort her out of more stuff.
"That will be all. thank you, headmistress. And I will definitely go have something to eat. If there is nothing else I'll be leaving. Have a lovely day." I said before getting up off my seat and turning to leave.
"One second Tom. Please get ready for the tournament, the school one starts the first of October and runs for the first two weeks of that month. Then we'll have two weeks to prepare before leaving for Japan. Please train and study hard. There is always room for improvement." She said encouragingly.
"Those words are true. There is always room to grow. I'll keep that in mind. Thank you for the reminder, have a good day." I said before turning back around and dissaparating. My vision blurred for a moment before I found myself in the cafeteria. My sudden appearance startled some of the kids passing close by. One of them even dropped their dray over their clothes.
After some apologising, I quickly ordered some food to satiate my appetite. I was getting hungrier by the day for some reason.
