"What happened, Eve?" Elric asked. 

She turned around and replied, "Nothing. Let's get inside soon." 

Elric nodded and turned around to continue walking toward his house. The sound of crackling twigs continued to increase but Evelyn believed it might be of the other animals residing in the woods. But there was a slight doubt that someone was following them. She glanced around. 

"Is everything alright, Eve?" Elric asked. 

"Huh?!" she exclaimed. Realizing he had asked him a question, she said in a doubtful manner, "I think there's someone." 

"Your abilities are enhancing," he remarked. 

"You ain't able to hear anything?" she asked, looking at him perplexedly. The curse was removed nearly two months ago. It was strange that he still wasn't able to feel the senses like he previously did.
