Returning back to her father's room, Evelyn said, "This diary belongs to my mom." She extended her hand to give the letter which was written by her mother. 

Elric matched the writings with the diary. Giving it back to her, he murmured, "One thing I couldn't understand is why both these diaries were placed so securely?" 

She shook her head slightly as a response, wondering about it. One thing that made her baffled was that his father had never mentioned her mother's diary. She was well aware that he used to maintain a diary. She wanted to know what was written in the other diary and why he hid it from her. 

"Well, let's just go through it and look for something," Elric stated, catching her attention. 

She nodded hesitantly as she was feeling awkward to read someone else's personal things. Even though it was her parents, but sigh...Believing she was overthinking, she asked her mother's diary to read.
