Scarlett woke up in bed, a little uncomfortable in her clothes from the night before. She looked around her room, her eyes landing on her coat hanging up and her boots placed together in front of it by the wardrobe.
Leo. It had to be. If her guards discovered her, which was unlikely considering they knew nothing about her background, she would have found herself in a nightie. She shook off the creeping shiver that picture enticed and rolled out of bed.
Scarlett didn't anticipate Leo finding her. She honestly thought the time spent in the cemetery with her family was by herself. It was good that she'd lowered her guard that much.
Yet it wasn't because Leo didn't take his shot. Sure, he promised not to attack her while she was here. Technically, that promise ended when her sister's birthday finished.
