***ADDIE'S POV***
The carriage ride from the palace to the house was short but felt like it took an eternity. Part of me was frightened because of what happened this morning. How Nolan and Callum had almost died on this very path.
Nothing happened though. Nolan held my hand, kissed my knuckles, and held me close to his side, as the carriage made its silent trek through the empty streets. I heard the clacking of the horse hooves on the street, but no other sound followed us while we rode in silence.
When the carriage came to a stop, the coachman opened the door and bowed, as Nolan left the carriage. He then took my hand and helped me down. Only he didn't help me step down. He pulled me into his arms and carried me down and toward the front door of the house.
