"Don't mind him." Uncle Isaiah came over and pulled me away from Nolan. I didn't miss the growl that he was giving then either. Nolan didn't like anyone taking me away, that was obvious. "He's just so in love that he can't think straight. By the way Addie, happy birthday." He was the first to say it but it started a chorus from them all.

"Happy birthday!"

"Thank you, Uncle Isaiah." I hugged him back. "At least you remembered what today is." I laughed. "And for one of you, this is the sixth time that you've celebrated my birthday." I looked at Briar who was standing nearby.
