While Kalena inside Elena's body was losing her mind due to the man that betrayed her, Gregory on the other side kept on failing with locating his beloved Iria. 

No matter how many times he tried, there were absolutely no traces of Iria inside the Beast City or the places surrounding it. He even asked some of his men to check on the outskirts of the city and tribes to no avail. As a last resort, he tried to use his mystic powers to only get repelled back by his own powers. Garrison that bastard was probably messing with both his and Preston's powers stopping them from reaching Iria.
