章節 28: Rumors
Christy told him many times before that she regretted refusing him. She even tried to propose once for him. However all her attempts failed.
He had such a weakness towards her but he felt it was just an animal desire. His heart already belonged to someone else, someone he had long dreamed about for such a long time already.
"What do you want?" he coldly said while narrowing his eyes. He knew she came here to get closer to him, as if he would fall for that.
He once asked her bluntly to sleep with her, but she refused. It seemed she already knew what kind of feelings he had for her. Her body was the only treasure she held, the only triumphant card she could play.
Losing it once meant losing everything forever. She wasn't that stupid to do such naiive mistake. In fact she was one of the brightest wolves in the entire pack.
And her dream was to become the sole luna for such a strong alpha.
"What's that cold attitude of yours?" Despite his cold words, she laughed while walking in a slow and intentional way towards his desk. "Oh, it's hot in here. How can you tolerate such heat?"
As she reached the desk, she didn't hesitate to open her jacket slowly to reveal her undergarments. She waved her hand while faking feeling hot.
"I can lower the temperature to zero if you want," Jeremy said while waving his eyes away from her.
And she smiled.
"You know," as slow as a snail she leaned over his desk. She rested her body by her wide apart hands while gazing up directly at his face. She became closer, much closer than what it was supposed to be from him. "I heard a small rumor about you becoming an alpha. Is that correct?"
"It's not decided yet," Jeremy sneaked a glance at her protruding chest and couldn't help but feel desire in her.
If it was up to him he would jump at her like a real wolf and crush her fragile body underneath him. But he knew she came here just for that purpose.
Getting caught in such action would link the two together by the laws of the pack. He wasn't a normal wolf after all. He had an image to keep.
Other wolves might trespass on some rules, but not him. So he tried to muster all his will and shifted his face with much difficulty away.
"I'm sure you'll be the next alpha," she chuckled before taking a more daring move. She sat over the desk while resting one leg over it and the other swang freely. "But the question is, how long will you last as an alpha?"
"What?" he turned to her in rage that instantly melted away. Christy had such an aura of temptation that he couldn't normally resist.
Seeing her like this made him feel uneasy. His desire was something he tried to tame for such a long time, and yet he seemed to fail greatly at that.
"Grr..." like a real wolf he gritted his teeth while faintly roaring. He was having such trouble against her, and seeing that scene made her laugh.
"You'll never change," she leant her head to the back while overextending her body to reveal more of her, so close and yet hard to reach, treasures. "You desire me but your heart belongs to another woman."
"I'm done with you," Jeremy tried to act cold here but his tone betrayed him. "I'm warning you, don't bring her memory now!" as he failed to fake coldness, he resigned to anger and threat like always.
"Mentioning another girl makes any girl uncomfortable," she held her faint brown hair and started to twist a few strands in a tempting way. "But you have to make up your mind."
"I've already done that a long time ago," Jeremy was able to break himself free from her curse and looked at the ceiling. He hoped she would leave him alone and never come back.
"Oh, are you going to stand against our laws then? How brave and foolish of you," she laughed as if the entire thing was just a game for her.
Yet he remained silent while resisting the urge to pin her to the desk and cut loose all her clothes with his claws.
"Y'know," she kept coming at him, "the pack can't have a single alpha. I also heard another interesting rumor. Are you, perhaps, interested in hearing it?"
She paused and kept such a sweet smile over her face. Her words fell like thunder over him while his mind thought of the only possibility regarding this rumor.
He instantly linked the dots and that made him very furious at her. This time he looked at her with deep anger and pure hatred. "You do move fast to take advantage of such situations, aren't you?" he said while gritting his teeth while speaking.
And she laughed again, a loud and clear laugh that confirmed his doubts. "Poor wolf, do you think an alpha of our mighty pack is really a strong and independent wolf? This only applies to those rogue and useless wolves in the wilderness. Poor you, hahaha."
At this moment she stood up, closed her jacked, before giving him a warm smile. "Be ready to have me as your luna. It would be better to have your approval than enforcing this over... our mighty alpha, hahaha."
She left while her laughs kept echoing in his mind. At this moment he wanted, deeply wanted to jump at her and deeply insert his claws in her neck and heart.
"F*ck you!" he was very enraged by this twist. He threw what was in front of his desk amidst his anger. "You damn elders... Wait, just wait until I have my moment," he swore to start with them and purify the pack from their dirty tricks.
What happened was for Christy to gain the approval of the elder council to become the next luna. Things wouldn't go this way except if the elder council enforced a decision upon the alpha.
It was the same way Jeremy used to make his sister the luna before. And now he was toyed by his same machination, and was about to taste from the same position.
He didn't need to think of a way to evade this. He already planned this entire trap before and knew its sole weakness; the elder council.
"I have to get rid of them soon," he decided, "your judgment day is coming much closer than I expected. Serves you right, bastards!"
And then he closed his eyes and started to think about his next plans against the elder council.
