"Oh, it's obvious from the huge size of the building," Ji Hoon had to cover up for his slip of the tongue. In fact he already memorized the inner details of this building to the heart.
He dreamt of breaking into this place for a long time already, and now he had his chance given to him on such a golden plate.
Just as the two passed the entrance, they were stopped at a big front desk where at least five employees were sitting.
They were busy watching the entrance and whenever the two entered, one of them smiled.
She was a girl in her early thirties, but looking much younger than that. Her skin was white and spotless, giving her much younger look with her short silk black hair with dyed ends in red color.
"How may I help you today?" she said in a professional way while Ji Hoon let Liza deal with her.
He was busy counting the cameras in this hall, besides the standing alert guards. If he wasn't mistaken, this looked more to an entrance of a war fort and not a normal corp.
He counted at least twenty cameras covering every inch in the spacious hall. The front desk was in the center of this wide hall, with a big slogan of the corps behind it.
There was no elevator here, or even stairs. Only two long corridors branching out from here and turning at the end to cover what lies behind.
Yet Ji Hoon knew that there were two groups of elevators on each side. He also knew that the ground level had no access to any stairs at all.
The only way in or out here was through the elevators. A smart move in his opinion to cut the way for anyone planning to trespass here like him.
He thought a lot before about the perfect way to get inside, and there was none outside joining here. He tried to apply dozens of times and was rejected with cold rejection letters every time.
It seemed impossible to set foot here, but now here he was. Out of the blue he got his ticket to the inside of this fort, and he swore not to let this chance slip off his hand easily.
"Oh, you are new employees," the girl said in a warm attitude while her eyes were attracted to Ji Hoon. "What department are you going to work at?"
Liza noticed her gazes over Ji Hoon and felt instantly hostile towards this reception girl. "Everything is mentioned in the letters I just gave you," she said while putting her hand over the desk.
Then she leaned to the side, putting herself in between Ji Hoon, who stood one meter off the desk, and that girl.
"Let me check then," the girl ignored what Liza just did as she instantly threw one envelope to the side in careless way before grabbing the other in interest.
"Ji Hoon… Is this you?" the girl asked while directly addressing Ji Hoon.
"Yeah, as you can see his photo is there too," Liza had to glare at her while speaking harshly.
The girl gave her a pale smile before she warmly turned to Ji Hoon. "Ji, can you please give me your number?"
"What for?!!" Liza didn't notice her tone to be loud and quite aggressive, attracting everyone's attention. Even the guards took notice of what was going on here.
And that made Ji Hoon smile at the girl. He didn't want to create a scene on his first day at work.
"Where can I write it for you?" he said while Liza turned sharply to him while her eyes told him he was in big trouble.
However he didn't care and only wrote his number with a big heart emoji underneath it. This made the girl beam with a bright smile while Liza was burning out of rage next to him.
If not for being in the corp for the first time, she would rather explode onto his face at the moment.
"Oh, Mr. Lucas... hold on for a second," suddenly the girl stood up and shouted while her hand saved the paper Ji Hoon wrote in her pocket just next to her chest.
She was wearing a formal suit, all black with a short skirt just above the knee. When she stood up, Ji Hoon could tell she wasn't that short. She was almost ten centimeters shorter than him, given or take the fact that she wore high heels at the moment.
"Is there a problem?" a man came to the desk as he seemed to just enter the building. He was in his mid-fiftieth, giving Ji Hoon the impression of being a twin to Einstein.
He had a mess of thick bulk of white hair with rare black stands here and there. He wore simple glasses while his yellow teeth showed Ji Hoon he was a heavy smoker, or an addicted drinker, or both.
He wore his uniform, a gray suit, but it seemed to grow wide on him. He looked like being shaken inside the suit whenever he walked or talked.
"These two are your new recruits," the girl said while delivering the two envelopes to him.
"Ah... I totally forgot about that," he took the envelopes with no care before turning to the two. "Liza and Ji Hoon I assume, correct?"
"Yes sir," Liza said while her face was still red out of her anger.
"Good, I heard one of our scout teams found you. Honestly I know nothing about your skills, so can you show a thing or two to me?"
The man was speaking seriously yet Liza turned to Ji Hoon with a look full of doubts. Ji Hoon was the specialist here, and she only came thanks to the links of her father.
Ji Hoon would rather ditch her and go on his own. Liza was such a nuisance to him but the next words of Lucas made him drop such thoughts.
"The application came from a photographer and his assistant. If you two can't show me a good result, I have to decline adding you to my crew."
Liza raised an eyebrow while giving Ji Hoon a deep glance. She was like telling him to show off his skills with her silent head motion to one side.
And Ji Hoon could only sigh and accept such fate.
He took his packbag and took out his camera from it. He switched it on and let it connect to satellites out of habit.
He always loved to keep a backing of anything he shot. "What do you want me to shoot?" he asked while Lucas started rubbing his chin with short scattered white hair there.
"Shoot the corridor there," he randomly selected one of the two, "try to focus on the reflection of light and show me a good one."
Ji Hoon nodded before turning towards that corridor. He held his camera and waited while he kept changing his posture without pause.
Yet he didn't take a single shot for long minutes.
He wasn't of the type to take hundreds of pictures just to select the best of them. He would take his time before taking a single shot.
For him one shot was simply enough if he took enough care of it.
"Humph, why isn't he shooting anything?" Yet Lucas seemed bored while watching the young man ducking and leaning everywhere without hearing the shutter sound of the camera.
"Hsh... He is trying to find the perfect shot," Liza shushed him while she crossed her arms while adding, "he is only taking one shot, and believe me one shot of him is worth the wait."
"Whatever," yet Lucas didn't believe her before something else happened.
A group of dark suited guards appeared from the start of that corridor all of sudden. They wore dark sunglasses while walking in a stiff way, a military way.
And in the middle of this ten group of men, a lady walked, wearing a black long and tight dress with sparkling fine crystals all over it and a soft black silk scarf over her shoulders.
She walked gracefully as if the entire world meant nothing to hair.
The moment she appeared, Ji Hoon couldn't help but freeze.
"It's... her!" he mumbled this to himself before a shutter sound appeared as he took a shot.
"Stop right there!"
As he did that, the entire atmosphere changed all of sudden. The sound of his camera was so crisp that it was heard perfectly well by everyone, including the guards.
Like cheetahs; they ran directly towards him. Like hungry wolves; they packed around him, isolating him from anyone else.
Ji Hoon didn't know why but their faces showed how angry and serious they were.
"Who are you?" one of them asked in a harsh and cold tone while another stepped forward. Like he owned the right to do that, he simply grabbed the camera of Ji Hoon's hands and started checking it.
"Give my camera back!" Ji Hoon didn't show any weakness as he roared in fake anger. He knew he had to play his role perfectly well as no cameraman would let go of his camera this easily.
Like a soldier on the field, this camera was supposed to be like his pistol. The man who took the camera sneered while another one stepped to block the path between the two.
"Talk to me," the guard who asked him before said in an arrogant tone, "who are you? What are you doing here? Who gave you the permission to take a picture here?"
The man's voice came while the sound of heels appeared from behind. Anna, who the guards were escorting, came and the tough guys all stepped down while creating a path for her.
And just from the look on her face she looked a bit pissed off at the moment.
Yet Ji Hoon didn't care about that.
He only watched her in vigilance while waiting for the decisive moment that would follow. 'Will she recognize me?' he only had this thought in his mind while watching the lady he dragged out of the lady's room the past night.
She was the one he met and the one who escaped his trail.
