My heart broke every time I thought about the betrayal. I had found out about it a day after the incident of that night. The shadow found out about it like he always did and explained everything to me. I had cried in front of the river, near the place where I had placed Dem. I had cried in the dark, because I was tired of everyone pitying me, seeing my tears. 

I sat down on my chair and breathed heavily. No matter how strong I acted down there, in reality, I was not exactly that person. I had thrown up everything the moment I entered the restroom of my office. I could not keep it back any longer. 

But I managed to stay strong to get the plan moving. I could not stop, not when Dem's life was at stake. 

"Are you sure this will work?" Perita asked. "I am down for any kind of risk, however, would he not suspect anything?"
