章節 2: Chapter 2 - Abyss (2) (Rewriging}

Uriel could not move as he looked at the two of them.

He felt like an insect next to an elephant. No, it would be more appropriate to say an insect next to the sun.

Thud.

Finally, his legs gave out and he tumbled on his butt on the ground.

"A, ah..."

His mouth was wide open, refusing to close.

[Putting that aside. Why did you call me here, Heaven Destroying Titan?]

Hearing the first voice again, his mouth immediately closed. No sound came out of it. It was an instinctive reaction — he felt he would die instantly if those two monsters found out about him.

'What did he really say...?'

Interfering with the laws of time and space...

If such beings can do something like that, killing me in an instant shouldn't be something complicated.

So, for now, I should calm down and absolutely under no circumstances alert them of my existence.

After cooling his head a bit, Uriel sat down on the ground and avoided making any movement that could alert the two beings. It was at this moment, the black skeleton's mouth made of bones moved.

[Humph, you brat. Fine. It's been about eight years since we appeared in this outer universe.]

[Well?]

The demon raised one of his eyebrows and replied with a disinterested expression.

Uriel felt as if he could see the black skeleton's eyebrows frown. He focused all his attention on the conversation of the two beings, gathering as much information as possible.

[Since neither you nor I should wish to stay in this place where there is not a single trace of spiritual or other energy, I want to offer you a deal.]

[Oh? I'm listening.]

[If I'm not mistaken, you must have a certain spiritual connection to the Abyss, right?]

[Indeed, I do have a spiritual connection with the Abyss, so what?]

[I wonder if you already know the reason that brought us to this outer universe?]

[Stop winding up and speak up!]

Rumble!

A deafening roar made the earth shake as an incredibly powerful aura exploded from the demon's body.

'Keuk...!'

Uriel let out a silent grunt. A gigantic pressure pressed his body against the ground. He could barely move, it was as if millions of needles were poking his body without stopping.

It was then.

[Fine. I will cut through the nonsense and tell you my request.]

With the calm voice of the black skeleton, the pressure that was pushing him against the ground slowly began to disperse.

Uriel could see that the demon's frowning eyebrows relaxed slightly.

'Just because he was irritated he released such pressure...?'

Uriel felt shivers coursing through his body.

At the same time, the black skeleton continued to speak.

[The reason I called you here is quite simple. I want you, through your spiritual connection with the Abyss, to send both my soul and your soul into the Abyss.]

[Upon reaching the Abyss, we will be able to seek and ask for help from a being who has reached the level of the Heavens. A being of that caliber should be able to bring our physical bodies from that place.]

[Also, the reason why we ended up in this outer universe is something quite complicated. Unlike our universe, this universe lacks an energy system. Precisely because of this, the universe's own energy has reached a point where it is dangerous to itself.]

[It is in excess. And as its own means of defense, the universe is trying to create its own energy system and empty out this excess energy.]

[The way of survival that the universe has unconsciously chosen is to pull beings from other universes. We ended up here being pulled in by the universe. Normally we wouldn't be weak enough to be pulled into this place so easily, but we were both quite weak at that moment.]

An unhappy frown formed on the demon's face upon hearing this.

He and the black skeleton were in a life and death battle before a gigantic black hole appeared in the sky and pulled them in. After that, they suddenly appeared in this outer universe.

'That old skeleton...'

Although the black skeleton touched something he found unpleasant, the demon did not interrupt him and decided to listen in silence. And likewise, the black skeleton continued his explanation.

[By pulling beings from other universes and dimensions, the universe will not only be solving the problem of excess energy but it will also be getting used to different forms of energy.]

[In this way, its laws and rules will be improved, and eventually, an energy system can be created.]

At that moment, the demon's eyes shone as if he had finally understood what the black skeleton meant. But in the end, only a bitter sigh came out of his mouth.

[I am sorry to have to report this to you, but I cannot transfer either my soul or your soul into the Abyss. That is beyond my capabilities.]

[Humph. Brat, you worry too much. If I came here with an agreement in mind, I obviously already planned the whole process. All you need to do is open your spiritual link with the Abyss and leave the rest to me.]

The black skeleton merely snorted from his concern.

But still, the demon did not agree with his proposal. How the hell could he agree to a proposal from someone who already tried to kill him?

[Don't rush to refuse my offer.]

Just as he was about to refuse, the black skeleton's voice stopped him.

[We are not the first to be summoned to this place; we are the last. In approximately 3 years, all the excess energy in the universe will run out. And this time, the universe will not return the summoned beings to their universe of origin, meaning we will be stuck in this universe forever.]

The demon frowned deeply. Simply put, in three years at most he and the black skeleton were going to be trapped forever in this place.

'Damn, that old bastard bag of bones...'

The demon gritted his teeth but in the end, could only agree to the black skeleton's proposal.

[Okay, I'll do it!]

At the same time. Uriel frowned a little. This information was a bit complex for him to fully grasp. Nevertheless, he managed to glean some rather useful information.

'Eight years ago... Could the father be someone like those two?'

That means that eight years ago when he abandoned me, he probably went back to his universe.

So maybe, just maybe, he really didn't want to abandon me?

The moment this question appeared in his mind, it stuck in him for a while. But in the end, he just shook his head and scoffed to himself.

'Does it matter at all?'

In the end, he had no lingering feelings for his father.

So, to him, this shouldn't be a big deal. He laughed at himself for being shaken by something like that and calmed down again.

Meanwhile, the demon who finally agreed to the black skeleton's proposal looked at the latter with an intimidating expression.

[I will do it, but I hope you won't betray my trust.]

The black skeleton laughed and did not respond to his intimidation.

[Demonic Art of the Demon of the Deep Abyss — Gates of the Abyss]

And then, a surrounded dark aura began to expand under the demon's feet. In a few moments, it already covered a good portion of the sky. It was then.

—Ahhhhh!

—Help...!

—God, why have you abandoned us?

Screams and wailing reached Uriel's ears. He felt intense chills run through his entire body.

'...Is this the Abyss?'

He saw a gigantic world appearing behind the demon. In this desolate and dark world, a blood moon shone strongly in the dark sky, illuminating countless demons devouring humans and running wild beasts, destroying kingdoms and empires. Blood could often be seen in this dark world.

Uriel cringed and once again realized how small he was in front of those two beings in the sky.

[Do quickly what you want to do.]

Crossing his arms, the demon demanded of the black skeleton.

[Humph. As expected from a brat, you are very hasty. But, very well, now leave the rest to me.]

The skeleton snorted and waved his hand in the direction of the world behind the demon. And then...

[Divine Spiritual Art — Incomplete Version: Chaotic Fusion]

Krrrrrrrrrrrrr.

...As if it were a black hole sucking everything into itself, the dark world behind the demon began to pull everything towards it. Visible oscillations appeared in the air as he was frantically sucked towards the Gates of the Abyss, hell, even the clouds were being pulled in.

'Wh, what the fuck...?!!!'

At the same time, Uriel suddenly felt something being pulled from his body against his will. Something that did not physically exist.

"Keuk!"

Uriel tried to resist, but he couldn't and his consciousness began to fade.

[So that's your idea.]

The demon frowned a little as he felt his soul being pulled from his body and understood the black skeleton's idea.

[Humph. This is a divine art that I personally learned from the God of Chaos.]

The skeleton snorted with undisguised arrogance.

'Look at this guy...'

The demon's eyes narrowed and he sneered. It was then.

[Uhm?!]

His expression wavered and his head moved with lightning to the side. An expression full of disbelief appeared on his face.

He looked at the shadow of a mysterious translucent figure. It was the soul of Uriel.

[How?!!! He was not restricted by the distortion of space and time?!!]

The black skeleton also turned his skull in the direction that the demon was looking, and also became disbelieving.

Sweaak!

The sound of air being torn apart exploded and both of them moved quickly towards Uriel. However.

Krrrrrrrrr.

The Chaotic Fusion pulled their souls slowly towards the Gates of the Abyss. In the end, both had their souls sucked into the Gates of the Abyss along with Uriel's soul.

The dark world that formed the Abyss Gates began to disperse, as did the Chaotic Fusion that was sucking everything in.

In a few moments, the sky, the streets, and buildings that were completely black and white slowly regained their colors. And as a result, the cars and people regained their movement.

As if none of these supernatural occurrences had taken place, people went about their normal business.

Uriel disappeared from that world. His soul did indeed.

***

—Grrrrr.

He heard some noises resounding in his ears.

'Who...?'

Uriel felt annoyed. He was having such a good sleep, who was bothering him?

—Guaakrr.

Tsk. He clicked his tongue and ignored the noises.

—Guahakrr.

Uhm? He felt something strange. A strange smell penetrated his nostrils. He tried to identify that smell, but in the end, he regretted trying to smell it.

"Ugh...!"

It sounded like sulfur. That sulfur smell sickened him and he almost vomited. The saliva over his throat dried up and he struggled to open his eyes.

"Heok!"

Uriel opened his eyes like a shot.

What had happened? The moment that question popped into his mind, a scowl formed on his face.

He felt something on his hands. It was thin but soft.

'Sand?'

He turned to the ground. It was not sand. It was a strange soil quite similar to sand, but definitely not sand.

'Where did I...'

Abyss. Uriel's eyes widened the instant he remembered that word.

He quickly moved his gaze to the sky and was surprised. The sky was dark. It was not like night, it was a much deeper dark. In addition, the most striking thing about this place — was the crimson moon that shone over the black sky.

As if a bucket of water had been poured over him, Uriel sobered up instantly.

'That's... that's the Abyss?!'

—Grrr. Heuhka.

It was at that moment. The noises he had heard while unconscious once again rang in his ears and strange thuds resounded behind him.

Thud. Thud.

The ground shook with each thud. Something huge was approaching.

Uriel immediately turned his head back and he felt chills run through his entire body.

"Wha, what the hell..."

He choked on his own words and his face turned pale.

He saw 'it' approaching him — it was a gigantic monster over twenty feet tall, it looked like a huge lizard but walked firmly on two legs, it had massive, polished muscles and finally, a drool descended over its open mouth looking down at Uriel. That thing was hungry and looked at Uriel as if he was its meal.

'Shit...!'

Uriel ignored the smell of sulfur that penetrated his nostril and stood up in an instant.

'Tap! Tap! Tap!

Before he knew it, his legs were moving so fast it made him doubt that they were really his legs. He ran as if his life depended on it — and it did.

—Guuaaaaaaaaakrrr!

He heard an extended roar behind him before he felt the ground shake continuously. The lizard-like beast was running after him.

'Shit, shit, shit, shit!'

Uriel kicked the ground and leaped forward. He made this same move over and over again, but instead of disappearing, the thuds on the ground and the roar of the beast drew closer and closer to him.

He was slower. Even if he used all his strength to run, he still couldn't outrun a monster like that in the race.

—Guk. Grrrrruuakk!

Uriel felt a giant shadow descend over his head.

Swoosh! Crash!

The greenish tail of the huge beast tore across his back.

"Kuuk...!"

His body was knocked to the ground and blood splashed everywhere. He struggled to raise his head, but when he got a closer look, he saw the huge lizard slowly approaching him with its tail pining with blood.

'Shit...'

Uriel gritted his teeth and looked up at the black sky.

What was he supposed to do now? Pray to God? Wait for some sort of guardian to save him? Or beg the lizard monster?

'Shit, shit, shit...!'

None of the options seemed very good.

Uriel felt all his blood being sucked from his body in an instant. This was very savage. He was suddenly thrown into this strange place and he was already going to die?

—Gurrrrkkk. Gurrrkkkk.

What the hell? Is it laughing at me?

The lizard monster approached him. It looked happy. It was hungry and such a weak meal invaded its territory.

A bitter smile appeared on Uriel's face and he shook his head. It was his end...

Khwaaaaaaaaaaa—!!!

...At least he thought so.

Uriel's eyes widened widely. He heard a roar that shook heaven and earth.

It was a huge shadow. Its two huge wings covered the crimson moonlight and its beautiful pair of golden eyes were looking in Uriel's direction. And then this huge shadow descended onto the ground.

Swish.

The lizard monster suddenly raised its head. And then...

—Grrrrr?

It saw itself above the ground. There were no clouds in this place, but it would not be wrong to say that he was above the clouds.

Crunch.

Something cracked.

—Guaaaaaaaaaakk!!!!!

The huge lizard let out a loud roar of pain. The next moment, its entire head was devoured in a single bite and it died.

Splash!

Blood rained down like drops of water uncontrollably from the sky.

"Ha Ha Ha..."

While being covered by the blood falling from the sky, Uriel laughed looking at the huge figure that turned into a dot on the horizon with the dead body of the lizard monster in its mouth.

"A...dragon..."

Beautiful. Very beautiful. Uriel laughed and fell backward on the ground.

"Hahahahaha!"

At that moment he completely ignored the pain of having his back torn, and just laughed as he looked up at the crimson moon in the black sky.

These were his first moments in this crazy world called the Abyss.
