After that, the three of them were quiet again. It was a peaceful morning. Jensen could hear a few dogs barking in the distant, and the melodious chirping of birds coming from somewhere above them. Occasionally, he would peek at Milo and Kenta. Life wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t that bad. Suddenly, Jensen’s stomach let out a loud rumbling sound, and he blushed in mortification when Milo and Kenta immediately stared in his direction.
“I guess I’m hungry.”
Milo snorted. “You think?”
Kenta burst out laughing. “Wow! I’ve existed for nearly a millennium, but this is the first time I got to listen to someone’s stomach growling like that.”
Jensen chuckled. He was still embarrassed, but he took his mates’ teasing in stride.
