“Miles sounds like…”

He trailed off because he didn’t have the courage to complete his statement. He wasn’t sure if he wanted to be right or wrong, but when Kenta nodded at him, he knew he must have guessed correctly.

“Miles was you in one of your previous incarnations.”

Jensen gasped. “So, Jon was—”

“He was you, Jensen, more than eight hundred years ago,” Kenta cut Jensen off midsentence. “I met Miles and Jon in England before my two hundredth birthday. I’d been inquisitive even then, and with the magic at my disposal, it made it easier for me to explore other countries. At the time, I’d been able to shift into my human form, but I’d traveled there as a fox from Japan by creating a portal because I was curious. I wanted to see something much more different than what Japan had been like back in those days. Edward the Third was the King of England and Lord of Ireland at the time.”
