Gray accepted the cup then took a long sip. “Mom is drinking green tea and has to lower her fat intake, but increase the amount of protein in her diet.”

“I know. When my mother started bugging me about it yesterday, I Googled it and Mama was right. She usually is about natural products and food. She believes in traditional medicine, but says there is nothing wrong with helping it along with natural remedies.” Enzo sighed. “Luigi and I were the only kids in the neighborhood who never had a can of soda in the house. We drank water, milk, or unsweetened natural juice. She will be over with the chickpeas next.”

“Chickpeas?”

“A non-meat, non-fat protein she makes with a little bit of pancetta for taste, olive oil, onions, and spinach or kale. It makes a good snack and, as Mama says, it’s healthy.”

“It sure makes for big strong men.” Gray raked his eyes over Enzo’s fit body.
