As for the coffee and bagels, that was a nice morning treat. Now the divorceary celebration, well that was a surprise—a big one. First of all, Howard had never heard of such a thing, although he imagined that there were people who enjoyed such celebrations; he just hadn’t planned on being one of them.

When Howard had seen Jason last Sunday, he had wanted to smack him. Today, Jason was being quite charming. With most people, Howard would be really suspicious, wondering if they were going to hit him up for a loan, or a kidney, or something along those lines. Jason had never been that way though. He had never schmoozed Howard; when he wanted something, he was bold and just came right out and asked for it. No, when Jason schmoozed him, it was usually because he had fucked up.
