When she finally went downstairs, she found that Yuuki had made similar adjustments to her appearance. She waited patiently in the living room, seemingly ready to go whenever Ken gave the word. Her guitar sat nearby. Even in multiple layers, Yuuki looked fantastic. Equal parts masculine and feminine. Eyes dark and focused. Expression sweet but serious.

Ken had to bite her lip in order to keep her head in the game. The thoughts that Yuuki inspired had nothing to do with the mission. Kissing. Tumbling into bed. Sex. Closeness. More sex. They were a distraction—one she needed to work hard to vanquish.

Luckily, a telltale jingle of silver bracelets in the next room provided the perfect intervention. Kenna gave Yuuki a quick nod before turning on one heel and leaving to confront Adelaide.
