If not then he was worried that the woman would go ahead and find trouble with their son every now and then resulting in Shen Li getting divorced by his wife. 

The same was happening with their second son, if not for the fact that he was avoiding them and was refusing to help them no matter how much his mother screamed at him for being useless and completely unfilial and did not know what was good for him.
