"Nothing's going right," he muttered, shaking his head. He looked up to see Luke and Leon's expressions mirroring each other, and he felt something inside of him soften. "But hey, what else are we going to do? I'll just have to be careful from now on."
Leon looked at him carefully. "Aren't you afraid?" he asked, curiosity in his tone.
Ardyn sighed. "If I say I am, what difference does it make? Ever since I stepped into this world, I've been scared as hell and unsure of everything. I don't know many things, but at least I have you to help me with stuff, right?"
Leon looked surprised. "So you're... okay? Especially with me?"
