“Are you sure you want to look for the underground dungeon now?”

I rubbed my hands against the wall and questioned, “Why? What’s wrong with looking for it now?”

Alex looked at the rose statue and felt around the column. “I know you said that you saw Alexis sneaking around the hallways here yesterday, but you know it’s gonna get dark soon, right? Aren’t you afraid of the dark?”

I gave her a confused look. “Why would you think that?”

“Well, you’re afraid of listening to scary stories and you don’t like ghosts, so I just assumed you were afraid of the dark since that’s usually the time when ghosts would show up…”

I suddenly felt my blood run cold. “D-Don’t be ridiculous, like a ghost will show up around school grounds.”

“But don’t you remember? They said that many prisoners died in the old castle’s dun-”

“AAAAAH! Let’s continue searching!” I quickly steer the topic away.
