Kakashi who got Ghost's training location rushed there immediately. He didn't know if he would be able to find Ghost or his men there but he have to find the leader of the assassination squad and get him back to the village to stop this psycho that is creating a mass genocide in the village.

"I need you to find the culprit behind this mass genocide", Hokage said tiredly to Fugaku in front of him.
"Hokage sama, I apologize but as I already said-
"Your clan is the only one that can, with your Sharingan, you can find the smallest of clues, and you have been in this field of criminal investigation for far too long already. You can petrol the streets much more efficiently as well", Hokage said.
"And this is your duty as the resident of the village as-
"Resident of the village?! The Uchiha were disgraced and disowned by the village!! And now that you suddenly need us you say that we are a resident of the village?!"
"..."
"I am sorry Hokage sama, but we are not members of the village, we don't even live inside the village, remember? Years ago, my wife, my newborn, my kids, my clan, we were thrown to the outskirts of the village under your orders, you threw us out..."
Hokage sighed, "What do you want?!"
"What?"
"What do you want from me for you to take this case as a priority?", Hokage asked.
Fugaku looked at the Hokage in exasperation...
"You help me on this one and in return, I will grant your clan the lot where they would want to be situated, and about all rumors of the Uchiha causing the Kyuubi attack... I will also personally make sure to pacify it"
"...", Fugaku couldn't believe his ears...
"The Uchiha police force would also be the first in line to get the new and innovative tech. Is that enough for the Uchiha Police force to take back their charge..?!"
Fugaku took a deep breath, "What happened after that?! We do your job and that will be it, we won't be needed again, and you will throw us out once more"
Hokage narrowed his eyes, "I will add some immunities to the offer! It won't happen again!!"
Fugaku took a moment to think about it and sighed, "I would need to talk to my clan about this!"
"Do it..!!", Hokage nodded and dismissed Fugaku.
As soon as Fugaku is out of the building. A shadow appeared behind him in an instant, "Great acting. Uchiha sama."
Fugaku didn't turn back as he frowned, "Were you following me..?!"
"Please forgive our intrusion, We have been told to never trust anyone, not even a friend. Not even our close confidants like Jiraiya sama are exceptions to this rule", the shadow said as it vanished...
"Just do not betray us Uchiha sama, and both of us will get what we want, this is nothing but a beginning. Don't let it go to waste...", The voice lingered in the air before fading away with the shadow.

Meanwhile, in the Hokage's office, many visitors came in at once, most of them civilians. Despite being in grief and tired, Hokage couldn't just throw out these people, as the leader of the village, it's his job to calm and heal the people in pain.
He sat down on a chair, in front of the many grieving faces; he could feel the fear and anger radiating from their hearts, and he knew how to deal with the emotions.
"Gentlemen", Hokage started. He looked up to the ceiling and leaned on his chair as he spoke gently, "I agree that for the last few days, we have encountered a serious problem with our crime rate, especially in the western district of the village"
"And I also agree that we are unable to deal with the source of the problem as they are now. But you have always shown your loyalty and trust to the Hokage time and time again, and I promise you, that my administration would put an end to all these troubles..."
"Hokage sama, this never happened before, so why now?!"
"Well, these matters had always been dealt with by the Uchiha clan, and since they resigned from their active duties for some time, the criminal was able to take advantage of the fact and caused a mass genocide, resulting in the loss of many lives"
Hokage chose these words after much consideration, now that he has to rebuild Uchiha's reputation to pacify their clan, this might be the best chance to do it...
Hokage's words revealed this heavy dilemma to the villagers, and everyone listening had rather complicated feelings. They had always thought that the police force comprise of the Uchiha clan wasn't of much use anyway; they just harass normal people and act all high and mighty.
Now, however, after this incident, they understood the important role of the police force in the stability of the village.
Slowly, their feelings of hatred began to be mixed with frustration.
"Hokage sama, perhaps the Uchiha should get their old role back in the security department. We might be..."
"Enough, Aoki!" The oldest of the villagers interrupted Aoki, and then bid farewell to the old Hokage, "I am sorry to bother you Hokage sama. You must be busy with many things, so please excuse us..!!"
The old man bowed and left with the rest of the villagers.
As they were walking out, Aoki asked the old man: "Uncle, why didn't you let me continue?"
The old man glanced at Aoki and said: "We need to keep face, kid! Just a few days ago, we were celebrating the Uchiha's demise, and now we go back to them asking for help?"
"But, the Uchiha are also Ninjas of Konoha; protecting us is their duty!", Aoki muttered... but then he stopped abruptly as the old man stared at him, with his eyes full of pity.
The old man sighed deeply as he slowly turned away from Aoki, and left the room.
Aoki felt as though he was about to be scolded by the old man but the old man simply left with the villagers, leaving Aoki alone with his thoughts.

Night came, and Ghost chose to attack yet again, but this time he couldn't enter the village because Uchiha Shisui stood in front of him...
Ghost smirked under his mask as his once self-declared disciple stared at him with his scarlet eyes. The short Anbu blade was held tightly in his hand.
"That's enough sensei. You have already killed enough. I am not gonna let you kill any more innocent people", He said with a bit of hysteria in his voice...
"Get out of my way, Shisui!!", Ghost's voice sound so cold and menacing, as if it was carrying the evil aura of death itself.
Shisui shivered, but his body remained calm and unmoved. He is the only one that can stop this beast, this is his duty as Ghost's apprentice. This is what he must do to protect the villagers.
"If you want me to move, then just kill me!!", Shisui's Sharingan rotates, and his figure moved, leaving behind only an afterimage.
Ghost sighed, "A foolish choice...", He said quietly as Shisui appeared behind Ghost ready to kick him from the back. But the kick merely phased through Ghost's body.
"...!"
In just a mere moment Shisui found himself from attacking to flying through the forest because of the kick on his back, Shisui could feel his spine break as he crashed some distance away, breaking the trees while making the animals run away and birds fly high into the sky.
Ghost sighed again, and just calmly walked to the teen, "Your back must be made of steel or something to survive that. Now stay down for a bit...", He said watching Shisui coughing up the blood.
"Never, I must stop you, no matter what", Shisui muttered as he struggled to stand up, blood spraying from his mouth and nose as if his insides are about to spill out of his stomach.
Ghost shook his head and just chose to ignore him as he walked towards the village.
"I will not let you kill any more sensei", Ghost glances back at Shisui who closes his eyes. Tears of blood flowed from his eyes as he kept muttering
"I will not let you, not anymore...", but he was cut off by a sharp pain in his chest. A green chakra skeleton appears around his body and chakra armor also forms around the skeleton.
According to Shisui, Ghost is strong enough to easily subdue him in nearly everything, it would take a sheer miracle for him to be able to touch a single strand of hair on the sensei's body. He is very clear about what kind of a monster this guy is.
But what could he do? He has to stop this madness, he is the only one who can; but the man in front of him is too strong, too fast, and too skilled.
Even though he never tried it. He knew his Kotoamatsukami (Distinguished heavenly gods) will not be able to control sensei in the slightest. The man will absorb the chakra within the Genjutsu in an instant...
The best and the only option he has right now is Susanoo... With Susanoo, he can fight on equal terms...
At least that's what he thought, that's what he hoped. But how could a mere Susanoo fight against Ghost, a being considered the most dangerous element within the world of Shinobi..?!
The massive titan, Susanoo, was now standing before Ghost, looking down at the tiny ant-like creature in front of him...
"SENSEI..!!", Shisui inside the massive Susanoo roared loudly.
Ghost winced, "Don't yell idiot. My ears are sensitive..."
Without hesitation, Shisui closed the distance between them by moving fast, faster than the speed of sound itself. In nothing but a tenth of a second, he had reached Ghost's side, Susanoo's wings made even the winds tremble and the ground quake.
And without showing any mercy, the titanic drill-like lance that was covered in a vortex of scorching flames in the hands of the gigantic Susanoo slammed straight into Ghost's head...
The impact of the attack was so great that it makes the ground explode beneath Ghost's feet in a violent explosion, but what happened next is something that Shisui never expected in his whole life.
When the lance crashed into Ghost, it didn't manage to harm Ghost in the slightest, rather, the lance shattered into pieces the very moment it touched the Ghost's body.
It all took but a second before the giant Susanoo cracked and completely shattered into multiple pieces and vanished utterly, turning into a mass of raw chakra, getting absorbed into Ghost's entire being.
The ground underneath both him and Shisui shook rapidly as a result...
Shisui who was weak to the point of lying on the ground felt a burst of desperation, is there nothing that can work on him?! He saw his sensei getting hit by the giant lance and then... he absorbed Susanoo's power.
But what else was he expecting, he always knew this was coming..! He just naively thought that Susanoo was a potential way to deal damage to sensei, but now he realizes it only made things worse... There is nothing that can damage this beast.
"That's some chakra", Ghost said calmly and lifted his foot sole a bit and tap the ground beneath him, the absorbed chakra made havoc and caused a big hole to appear and sink into the ground.
A large amount of earth was sucked from under Ghost's foot, forming a deep pit. Watching the unconscious teen in front of him Ghost sighed one last time, and then transferred the rest of the absorbed chakra onto the fallen body of Shisui, before putting an invisible barrier around him.
It would take several minutes for Shisui to be able to get up. And in those several minutes, he would be lucky even to find Ghost's shadow.
Once he is sure of Shisui's safety, Ghost begins walking down toward the village once again.

The next 7 days were complete torture for any citizen inside the village. There was no day that people wouldn't talk about the incident, and how the criminal took out many victims.
Everyone knew that this was the most dangerous situation for the village since the first day Konoha was created. The desperate villagers felt what it is like to be without police and military protection.
They were afraid, they were terrified. Who knows when they will die next, how, or why. They became paralyzed by fear, not knowing how to fight back against such a powerful monster. They could only feel the urge to flee for their lives.
All the young men and women had begun to leave the village, and head for the forests of the east, anywhere would be fine than being here. It's time to seek a new home in the forests...
But they couldn't even do that... they were murdered in cold blood by something unknown, everyone is trapped inside this bloody prison they once called home, but now it has become an eternal hell to be buried alive in.

~~Hokage office..!!~~
"Hokage sama, we want you to get the Uchiha back to their position of maintaining order in the village. You already know how things are in the village; our lives are no longer the same!"
Hokage sighed, and none of the villagers dared to interrupt the old man's thinking.
"I have already taken actions regarding their reinstatement. This is taking some unnecessary delay, but I am doing everything I can..."
"But sir, we need the police force right now"
"Forget that for now, it's a complicated matter", Hokage said, shaking his head as he stared at the ceiling tiredly.
"But-
"My friend has lost his entire family as well. His clan was butchered by something unknown, burned to ashes that very night and no one noticed anything before morning", Hokage said making everywhere quiet...
"Danzo has lost more than you did. And yet he is working day and night to catch this "Demon killer"... So just sit and wait for my decision"
"..."
The Hokage looked at the villagers with his piercing eyes, "If you all have nothing to say anymore, then I would rather be left alone...!!"
The villagers sighed upon hearing these words and immediately left the office...
As soon as they stepped foot outside, Hokage tried to find anything unusual using his crystal ball, he has been doing it every night since the incident first started yet he found nothing... again.
...
"You know, I never thought I would say this, but we were wrong. Uchihas almost lost their entire clan in the war just to save us like Senju and right after that, we treated them like this", someone sighed
"Yeah, I guess you are right"
Humans in general are good in essence, and unless they are too tainted with hatred, they always have sympathy for the weak.
These people could feel happy about that when they had their distance, but when witnessing the grief themselves and feeling the importance of Uchihas, they couldn't keep the same feelings.
Such kinds of whispers in the village are growing louder with each passing moment. With Ghost's men controlling the rumors, public opinion was completely overturned evident by the fact that people are beginning to accept Uchihas as a part of the village.

"Tell Ghost that I am thankful for his help", Fugaku bowed to some unknown man in his house
The man smiled and put down the cup of tea in his hand, "I will, but I am here because he ordered me with some new instructions, Uchiha sama"
"What is it?!"
"He ordered me to tell you that it's time for you to gather your clan and lead the criminal investigation, Leader is officially coming back, and Kakuzu is ready as well. It's time for you to put an end to this deal"
Uchiha Fugaku nods his head.

~~Root(s) Headquaters~~
An underground place gave a dark, humid, cold, and depressing feeling to all who entered, a figure sits at the throne watching the scene in the large room below.
The room itself was lit only by a single light fixture which has a small light on its upper portion. The rest of the room is completely dark and empty except for the few shadows that are hiding in the shadows.
"Have you noticed a pattern in these massive genocides?! Most of the civilians who died by this "demon killer" are those associated with us", Danzo said to one of the shadows, "Along with my clan members we have absolutely no control over the village anymore, do you think someone is after us?"
"It might be a coincidence Danzo sama", The shadow answered
Danzo shook his head, "I don't think so. Someone is targeting us. Right now we don't have any kind of authority, neither in terms of politics nor terms of manpower. I think this is personal..."
"You mean to say that this is a revenge attack?", The shadow asked.
"I think I know who did this...", Danzo sighed, "I was wondering why he chose to never retaliate, but I finally knew the answer..."
"Danzo sama, Uchiha Shisui of the assassin squad wish to meet you..."
"Uchiha Shisui..?!"

~~Somewhere near the border of the land of fire~~
After ten days of searching since he started, Kakashi finally had something in his hand.
He traveled with haste, his figure blurred through the forest with heavy breathing as he found himself at a place where there were many people, all of them wearing black uniforms, they had their faces covered with masks and hoods, and they all were armed to the teeth.
"Kakashi Hatake, what brings you here..!", Ghost asked standing on a big rock...
