"so we are taking a break here?" I asked walking into the inn.
"no, you will be, I'm meeting with my contact," said jiraya, throwing me the key.
"...okay, whatever, be quick I have a training trip to go on" waving a hand as I walk to our room, with naruto behind me, we enter only to see two beds.
"...ero-sensei is taking the floor if we stay here tonight," said naruto as he plopped down on the bed.
"hey, naruto?"I get his attention and continue." how are you feeling?" I ask, unsealing sake, yes sake, this one will need a drink, there are a few more days before the Akatsuki comes so it's a better time than any.
"huh? what do you mean? I'm fine" he said with a confused face.
"that's not going to work on me Naruto, drop it," I say and place down his cup and pour some sake for both of us.
"..." he remains silent and looks at the cup, picking it up he downs it in one go.
"no, I'm not fine at all," he said with a tired voice, not the one that everyone's used to.
pouring him another glass, we remain silent for a minute.
"want to talk about it?" I ask, looking him in the eyes, gone was his playful twinkle and it was replaced with tiredness.
"..." he doesn't say anything, I guess I need to give him a push.
"I already know about your 'tenant' so no need to hold off," I say and take a sip from my glass.
his eyes widened a little bit, but when he looked at me, and maybe remembered that I was a tier 7 seal master, he calmed down.
then he started ranting, everything he's been holding off, for the past 13 years, he poured everything out to me.
I just listened, refilling our cups periodically, until he finished.
"I'm not going to say that I understand what your saying, but if you ever need someone to listen to you, I'll be there"
I say because I don't know how to deal with this, I haven't done this since my little brother had depression and even that didn't end well...he didn't live long after that.
"thank you," he said, face flushed red from alcohol, so I stand up and take him to bed, jeez lightweight.
hearing the door open I look over to see jiraya.
"what's the occasion? and these are expensive, where did you get these?" he asked, with a raised eyebrow.
"I revived Madara and made him rob a store," I say with a deadpan.
"..."
"..."
yeah, not the best joke that came from my mouth.
"anyway, what do you know about jutsu?" I ask him, changing the subject.
"well, I have this jutsu that makes Chidori look like child splay" he answered proudly.
"you didn't even make it, why are you so proud?" I ask, with a raised eyebrow,
he deflates immediately.
"Okay kid, you want to learn it or not?"
he asked, grumbling.
"...tell me when are you planning to tell him that the fourth is his dad?" I ask and look at the sleeping form of naruto.
"...how did you know?" his face was serious while asking the question.
"you people must be stupid, there is an older version of naruto on the cliff, and you expect me not to notice? and his birthday, at least you could change his birthday, the same day that the fox attacked, it was pretty obvious" sitting down I invite him and unseal my notes on sealing...ironic.
sliding the textbook over to him I continue.
"check those, I'm tier 7 seal master and can't find tier 8 books, Im working on suggestion number 4," I say and lean back on the chair.
"hmm, not bad kid, the 4th did something like this, it's how he placed his flying thunder god sales without ink, and I can give you the tier 8 book, but it's not going to be free," he said with a smirk.

reading a tier 8 sealing book, while I walk to the next destination I look up at jiraya.
he's reading the scroll I gave him yesterday, the [Chakra Dome jutsu] I'm pretty sure he can figure it out...someday.
"So where are we going now?" asked Naruto, looking at Jiraya.
"We are going to the next town, I got a word from my contact that the one we are looking for is there" answered the toad sage without looking up from the scroll.
there was silence until he turned to me.
"kid, how did you come up with this?" he asked, pointing at the scroll.
"Im not a sensor so I needed something to know where my opponents are if they use a clone to distract me, I also had another idea but it's chakra expensive, maybe naruto can use it," I say, closing the book and sealing it in my storage seal.
"oh? and what kind of jutsu Is it?" interested he tried to pry further.
"...nope, not telling".
