The lunch was delectable and I was hungry. However, Tong Lin didn't appear to have much appetite. He only looked at me. I ate as gracefully as I could. When I was 80 percent full, I felt chattier. Hunger always annoyed me.
I munched on the juicy steak and looked at Tong Lin. "Why don't you just tell me what you want? Aren't you anxious just waiting around?"
Tong Lin shook his head with a smile. "I'm not."
"But I am!" I countered coldly.
"Why are you anxious? This place is like heaven and you lived here when you were young. If staying here can help you recover your memory, it's worth it even if we stay here forever." He said evenly.
"Are you hoping that I'd remember where my parents hid the treasure?" I picked the bones gingerly out from the fish. Tong Lin was startled and I smiled. I knew it!
Then I felt someone coming from my back. I turned around on instinct, grabbed the person and my fork stabbed into the invader's arm.
