章節 37: Desperate Situation

The Azazel forest was vast and many of its parts were still unexplored and unseen by humans. Some believe that somewhere in this forest a vast amount of treasure is hidden and Some believe that it's a home of mythical monsters but one thing that every single human believes that once you entered the deepest part of this forest then you will never come back. The only thing that awaits you is death.

This cursed forest was many folds bigger than the kingdom where the quartz village resided.

And Compared to the real forest, David and his team just searched the edges of the forest, and after searching the most outer surface of the forest they decided to head inside the real Azazel forest.

The people who went inside the deeper part of the forest could be counted on fingers and those people never returned to tell what they encountered inside the Azazel forest.

It became creepier, and abundant trees blocked the sunlight and the like thick fog, a weird miasma was mixed in the air. It's the same miasma that covered their village every night.

The look and smell became very different from before, Monsters and Animals' bones were lying in some places. The stench of decaying bodies was also mixed in the air, making an unpleasant atmosphere to breathe. Their proud and strong mood becomes tense in a moment.

Because of the atmosphere, weird thoughts started to pop out in their mind. They did not keep track of their way and forget to leave behind marks on their route, so they would not get lost in this dangerous forest and could return to their village while following the marks.

David and Leon managed to collect their thoughts together and guessed something was not right as others were hallucinating and going in an unknown direction. Both of them covered their mouths with clothes and started to follow them to see who or what was messing with their mind.

Soon they arrived at a place abundant with thicket, there was a giant purple flower that looked very mesmerizing. When both Leon and David saw it, they recognized it and didn't waste a single second and cut down the flower into many pieces.

"Huh? What happened? where are we?" Everyone came to their senses and started to ask questions?

"A halluti was about to make us his prey but luckily we managed to come to our senses and killed it," David said.

"Halluti? What is it?" Galena asked.

"Halluti is a plant species that hunt animals and humans, it can grow anywhere and has caused death to many people. It releases a strange gas in the air and whoever comes in contact with that gas, started to hallucinate and follow the gas and became its prey and dies without knowing what happened to them." David explained.

"The worst part is that the gas has no smell so you can't detect it but strong-minded people can break their hallucinations," Leon said.

"And because of this damn plant, we have lost our route," David said angrily.

"I should have not come to this forest, you all forced me to come and now you have to take back to the village safely. It's your responsibility," Trahso said angrily.

Sam got annoyed hearing his nonsense.

"Stop winning or I'll cut you down right now, are you really a man?"

"What did you say?" Trahso's face became red in anger.

"You two stop arguing, some monster might attract here because of your loud noise?" Leon said with his cold gaze.

Seeing David depressed Leon patted his shoulder and said. "Don't worry David, we just have to follow back our footsteps to return

"Leon is right and we came with you at our own free will. You don't have to feel responsible for us, and nothing too serious happened to us." Galena said.

David was not depressed because he was scared of losing, he was just worried about his friend's safety but after hearing them he felt happy and tightness in his heart became loose.

"Everyone, cover your face with a cloth and don't let your guard down even for a second, we don't know what might attack us?" They started to follow in their footsteps to find their way outside the forest. But they didn't realize that they were heading deeper and deeper inside the forest.

They at some distance something eye-catching came to their vision. There was a bloodstain on the ground, and the bushes were also cleanly cut like someone cut it with a sharp blade but who could do this. This scene clearly showed that some time ago a fierce battle between two strong monsters happened here.

"David… Look there?" Galena patted him on the shoulder and pointed out her finger to look ahead.

He could see the terror in Galena's eyes, When he lifted his head to look ahead, he saw the cause of terror in her eyes. There was the whole pack of the night saber wolves and they were growling anger. They were not there for hunting as they didn't even bother to conceal their presence which every hunter does.

They were there because someone killed their two strong subordinates. The bloodstain on the ground must belong to their subordinates and they were thinking that David and his team were the ones who killed their subordinates as they were present on-site, where the night saber wolves subordinates died. The wolves were assuming that they were the ones who killed their pack members.

"What…what should we do, they are so many of them," Galena said, they could feel the fear in Galena's voice.

"Argh we are about to get eaten, I knew it was the wrong decision to come here. What should I do? I'm gonna die, I don't want to die here?!" Trahso started trembling and mumbled.

There were at least 8 the night saber there. Although they were surrounded and the night saber wolves numbers were greater than them, they might have a small chance to win against them.
