I crept, poising to strike him as fast as I could before the others noticed my intervention. Despite being at the tenth level, my knowledge about these people was limited, and with access to Mu's teachings, it is quite possible for them to be stronger than me. I didn’t want to draw out the fight.

Just before moving, an arrow whistled near us, making the medic turn in my direction…and our eyes crossed. He opened his mouth in surprise, his eyes widening, and I burst from my position, unsheathing my sword as I went. I don’t know if he saw something or if his instinct overtook him, but he raised his hands to protect his neck. Sadly for him, even his hardened muscles or bones were not a match against the sharpened steel blade in my hand.
