Chapter 35
The night was getting deeper, but Xed and I were simply content, looking at the stars while fireflies would occasionally fly by us. The longing I felt for him all those years ago suddenly melted away. The person beside me was the Xedjedy I lost.
The coolness of the water had made me relaxed, in such a way that a smile suddenly crept on my face. I was happy. It was as if I was the person I once was again. And that somehow satisfied me.
"You look beautiful when you smile." I commented out of the blue. It had been a good while since we talked. After he told everything he could remember so far.
I looked at him with a genuine smile on my face. "Because I now know you're the guy I grew up with." I happily said.
"Just the guy you grew up with?" He pouted as if disappointed with what I said
I blushed. He was the only man I've ever loved. My first in practically everything. "Well, you are Xedjedy." I grinned at him, suddenly embarrassed of all the things I did first with him.
He sat in a way that he was facing me. He folded his leg between us while the other one was still dangling on the water. "I am Xedjedy. I'm the boy you fell in love with. I am the man who would never forget you even after death. I love you."
"Xed, honestly, I'm afraid." I was worried and confused. "I don't want to lose you again."
He gave me a sincere smile, "Baby, your husband is immortal. You won't lose me." He reassured me. He held my cheek with his hand. "You'll have me for eternity."
I snorted, "we're not married."
He deliberately took the time to let his face come near mine and gave a wicked grind. "Well, in our dreams, we are. Remember?"
Suddenly, memories flashed within my mind's site. The same one I remembered when we first met again after losing him. I blushed. We looked so good together in our simple wedding attires. "But it's not real. It never happened."
He chuckled, "it's as real as it's going to get. You're my wife, and I'm yours forever." He held my hand and placed it on the left side of his chest. I could feel his heart beating erratically.
"Your heart is beating so fast, you said…" I remembered what he said, that his heartbeat won't need to beat as fast as normal humans do. But his heart would beat faster when…I couldn't even think about it as I was never a vulgar woman.
"My heart is beating so fast, because what you were feeling sexually towards me earlier, I'm feeling it too." It was then that my eyes saw his stiffened erection. "Only I couldn't sway my dick to think otherwise." I instantly blushed harder as he tried to sit comfortably with it. "Eyes up here baby." His voice was full of mischief as he said that.
I couldn't look him straight in the eyes. I was embarrassed of what I wanted. I wanted him. Who in their right mind wouldn't? There's this battle waging in me. Should I give in or not?
His laughter broke the silence. "I guess you have to wake up now," he said, standing up and offering his hand for me to take.
"It's not even morning yet." I murmured, taking his hand. With a grin on his face he pulled me to stand like I weighed nothing.
"Yes, it's not morning yet, but I think you haven't had dinner yet." He said smiling. He enveloped his arms on me bringing me into a hug. "I'll be waiting for you." He then kissed me on my forehead, as everything faded in sight. "I love you." was the last words that echoed in my mind.
I fluttered my eyes open with a smile. Mom was calling me from my room's door. "Fran!" she was calling, prolonging the 'A' sound. Just like when she would call us as kids. I heard her walking towards my room's balcony. "There you are."
"Hmmm?" I lazily asked her.
"Oh, you were having a nap.'' She looked at me astonished. I never napped. I avoided sleeping like a plague because of my nightmares.
I yawned, stretching my arms and legs, while Karma was doing the same thing. "I fell asleep while looking at the sunset."
She gave me a smile, "well, I'm just glad you were able to rest. Come on down stairs. Dinner's waiting."
He was also waiting for me outside the walls of this shelter. But at least we could be together in our dreams. That brought a smile to my face. "Okay mom, I'll follow."
"Yes, okay. Jim and Queencie are already fighting over who can eat more of the Korean barbecue we're having." She was smiling. "I better go down there, before they eat them all."
Karma was purring beside me. "Let's get down to the kitchen Karma." I stood up and walked towards the kitchen down stairs.
