On the first page of the book, there's a message from her grandmother, Alayna Griffin, for her mother, Juliette Chang. This was found in the library in the Spencer's mansion.

From the note, it seemed that the grandmother of Song Jia's other part of her soul, Selah Spencer, was practicing yoga, reiki and was fond of using essential oils and doing aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy is a method of healing that calls on the use of aromatic essential oils. It works through inhalation, topical application, and ingestion–skin, and sometimes even swallowed. These essential oils are sometimes used in combination with one another and also added to "carrier" or "base" oils to achieve the desired effect.
